Some of these look nice. I am glad Washington has reverted to its old-style logo. http://nhllogos.blogspot.com/2007/08/islan...w-uniforms.html

Hopefully, I can get a few more years out of my current laptop.

"Talk To Me" was awesome. Cheadle is shaping up as one of the greatest actors of our generation. Why did the '70s have to end, dammit?

The problem is they don't make one application I must have for Mac and I don't really know how good the Windows emulators Macs have are.

And from the land over here.

Rap would not be what it is without the buying power of white people.

I think many of you are not acknowledging that the forces of economics are more powerful than the laws of nation-states. Cash rules everything around us. If our economy didn't need tons and tons of people who will do shit jobs for nothing, illegal immigration wouldn't be a problem. I look at the problem as something to be put up with and managed as part of the downside to having a free-market economy. The unemployment rate remains pretty low, even in states with a lot of immigrants. Having someone in my family who had to go through the uber-rigmarole of obtaining citizenship legally, I underst

If I had to get a new compy today, I would get a Mac.

As it's not a good idea to by a model of a car the first year it comes out, it's not a good idea to buy an OS the first year it comes out. Subsequent versions may be better.

Dude, man, my advice is don't fuck up your credit and don't get convicted of a felony. I worry about a lot of things, but they all can be encapsulated into the worry of not being able to stop being upset and feeling inadequate over the things I have not got.

Many happy returns of the day.

There is no substitute for The Bomb Squad.

It's cool. Here at VC, we are an arsenal of care.

A lot of newspaper people are unreconstructed geeks with social adaptation difficulties. They just don't know any better. And a lot of newspapers drug-test now, too, which cuts back severely on newsroom coolness.

Ooo. I would have whipped that editor to death with a motorcycle chain.

Good opportunity for a lot of up and coming refs.

Because they are trying really hard to be cool. (Luckily, at Ulster Publishing, we don't have to try.) And editors are in charge of headlines.

It's the insurgency. Something wants out very badly but has not yet found the clear path.

Next time, we should take a day trip to Olana.

That's a very nice part of the valley up there on that mountain.

I haven't kept up with comics, but at the time, I though Miller's first Dark Knight series was the greatest thing ever. Really really liked the Miller/Sientiewicz Elektra: Assassin, and Miller's Batman: Year One and Daredevil work. I also like Alan Moore a lot - V for Vendetta, Watchmen and his Swamp Thing work I looooved. I have the first 20 or so issues of Hellblazer, which are great as well. Other faves include Marshal Law, the old Dr. Fate and Shazam miniseries, Dr. Strange, and others.
