I think many of you are not acknowledging that the forces of economics are more powerful than the laws of nation-states. Cash rules everything around us. A lot of newspaper people are unreconstructed geeks with social adaptation difficulties. They just don't know any better. And a lot of newspapers drug-test now, too, which cuts back severely on newsroom coolness.

That's a very nice part of the valley up there on that mountain.

I haven't kept up with comics, but at the time, I though Miller's first Dark Knight series was the greatest thing ever. Really really liked the Miller/Sientiewicz Elektra: Assassin, and Miller's Batman: Year One and Daredevil work. I also like Alan Moore a lot - V for Vendetta, Watchmen and his Swamp Thing work I looooved. I have the first 20 or so issues of Hellblazer, which are great as well. Other faves include Marshal Law, the old Dr. Fate and Shazam miniseries, Dr. Strange, and others.
