How nice. My first night of sleepaway college, we went to a bar with fake IDs and I drank so much Pabst Blue Ribbon I went back to the dorm and threw up all over my bed. -
Long Trail makes some nice beers, including the above.

Have a nice one!

Europe, 1493: "What?!!?!?!? The world is round? But the kids have all been taught the world is flat! What about the mobiles???" You know what? Pluto was wrongly classified as a planet back then because of our still-incomplete knowledge of what's in the solar system. Kids will adapt. It's not like we're trying to change from inches to centimeters or something like that.

The goats are OK; neither my sister nor my parents have been flooded yet. The lamb that got attacked by the puppy had an abcess, but they lanced it and it's doing better. Clandestino has of late lived up to the phrase "horny as a billygoat"; he's apparently attacked anything that comes in range and has been ejaculating all over himself. "I never want to eat goat cheese again," said my sister after hosing him off one day. Here's to happy days for all of us, especially friends we haven't heard from in awhile. -
Iran 'boosted by war on terror' Iran's influence in the Middle East has been heightened by the US "war on terror", according to a report. The Chatham House think-tank study said the US had eliminated regimes in Iraq and Afghanistan but failed to replace them with stable political structures. Recent conflicts involving Israel in Lebanon and Gaza have added to instability, the report continued. Iran has now superseded the US as the most influential power in the Middle East, it concluded. 'Confident ease' The report - called Iran, Its Neighbours And Regional Crises - by the London-based

My mom was telling me last night that out in New Mexico, the Navajos recently performed some kind of dance to get it to STOP raining. -
Sure. Both were male teacher-female student, btw. I would have married my French teacher in 10th and 11th grade. She was just out of college, loved A Flock of Seagulls and was hot!!!! Used to teach class bra-less sometimes.

Jesus, I wouldn't log onto a Russian website for any reason. Jail would be the least of your problems and you would be happy to go to get away from your virus-laden computer.

That happened at my school. Twice while I was there. At least one of the marriages ended in divorce.

I had wasabi-and-soy coated almonds in the not-too-distant past. I got them at the same Hannaford that had the wasabi green peas. -

More scarred for life than if they never get any as a teenager?
-
I sure as hell don't. In my day, we called that "getting lucky." I can think of about five or six teachers I had that I certainly would have done as a teenager and may even still do today, should we run in to each other at the brewpub.

I am wearing my new AC/DC T-shirt today and am contemplating seeking professional help for my facial hair, which has really gotten out of hand. Or face. Or something. -
Many happy returns! Thanks for doing what you do.

Sure, but I'd think about doing broadcast or online stuff. Life holds many twists and turns.

Doesn't matter. Ad revenue is down across the board for daily newspapers. When that happens, payroll gets cut because the shareholders want their profits. A lot of good newspapers have really gone down the tubes because of this philosophy.

Can't blame a guy for trying. I guess being in the "Axis of Evil" whetted their appetite for being in the real Axis. LONDON (Reuters) - Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told German Chancellor Angela Merkel that their two countries had been subjected to "tyranny" from the World War Two victors and should cooperate to end the "imposed" world order. Ahmadinejad made the remarks in a letter sent to Merkel in July. A copy of the letter, the details of which were not made public at the time, was obtained by Reuters from a diplomat who asked not to be identified. In the letter, the Iranian

I doubt global thermonuclear war would result from an Iran-Israel exchange. Why would we unleash our arsenal on Russia and why would they unleash their arsenal upon us?
