Hey, have you guys heard anything about somesuch called "ch3mtrails"? -
We have kind of effed it up a bit. Apparently 8,000 years ago, there was twice as much forest as there is now, and biodiversity is plummeting.

Jesus. I never thought I'd see that huckster Gerald Celente's name on this board. -
Not really - I had a lot of creative angst over whether the reference is too dated.
-
Creative angst may not be as bad as "OMG, am I going to starve to death" angst or "OMG, am I going to get a bomb dropped on me by some asshole in a Stuka" angst, but if your livelihood rests upon the quality of your creative output, uncertainty about it can be very unpleasant. And, do you NOT want the dude to take what he does seriously?

Yah. For a lot of people who go on about "sovereignty," I think it is code for "the U.S. continuing to be able to do whatever it wants without so much as a 'by your leave.'" Let's face it, kids - globalization is a FACT, and we, meaning all of the members of the species Homo sapiens who live on this rock, had better get our shit together and start cooperating. I would much much MUCH rather have a one-world government that have all the death and misery that a world war would generate. If that means I have to call my money something else than a dollar, and it doesn't have some dead-ass white dud -

The last tattoo I got, the dude was heading out to dinner afterwards, so I gave him $10 toward his meal, which was about 15 percent of what the tattoo bill was. He seemed genuinely touched. -
Hey, there's a recession on. We all gotta do our bit.

Hey, crossing over from FB, you should totally get that Pylon album. It is mad awesome - can't BELIEVE I missed it back in the '80s.

I would buy a shirt with the "highy messed up freaks" on the front and "Fixed it for you" on the back.

I liked this in Thomas Friedman's column Saturday: If you want to guarantee that America becomes a mediocre nation, then just keep vilifying every public figure struggling to find a way out of this crisis who stumbles once — like Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner or A.I.G.’s $1-a-year fill-in C.E.O., Ed Liddy — and you’ll ensure that no capable person enlists in government. You will ensure that every bank that has taken public money will try to get rid of it as fast it can, so as not to come under scrutiny, even though that would weaken their balance sheets and make them less able to lend

Huh. Never knew that.

And China is effed too, if we crap out on what we owe them.

I wonder what the copyright status of all this stuff we type on here is?

Apparently, you are not widely believed, M. Agent Provocateur. The conspiracy behind the conspiracy!

It's tongue-tied lightning's birthday!

Happy birthday, man, and thanks for the all the fish! -
I "flew" a little airplane once. Fun, and surprisingly intuitive once you get to work the stick and the pedals. Landing, I hear, is tricky, as is remembering everything to say on the radio. If I had the money, I'd take more flying lessons and then buy an old P-51 Mustang and tear ass around the Hudson Valley, maybe make a strafing run or two or fuck with the biplanes from the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. Do they make paintballs for .50-cal. machine guns?
-
Have a good birthday, man!
-
Yeah - we may have really turned a page here, with the government in essence taking control of the economy. Hopefully, it won't be a permanent thing - from time to time, we have oddly abandoned our principles (see, the treatment of Anarchists and other political radicals in the earlier part of this century, for one, and there have been quite a few since then) but we have taken them up again.

Emotionalism and justice do not mix. In retrospect, it is probably a bit much to ask for hangings and floggings. Sorry - must have been my Inner Puritan banging on his cage.
-
-
At this point, if all this stimulus doesn't include the hangings and floggings of some selected - at random, for all I care - mother-effers that got us into this, I'm going to be disappointed.

Man, you would think with all this money being flung around blindly I could get a couple two three thousand to fix my car.
