  1. I don't know if you got the memo but this bob dylan guy is supposedly quite the asshole.....
  2. Opps my mistake, thought toyota center was the place in Tinely Park, which this place is not.
  3. I'm liking "The New Shit" .....anyone.....
  4. I'm putting in an order for all four nights at red rocks, as is my girlfriend and two other people i know. If somehow we wind up with extras I'll offer em up here first. So excited. By the way i've been to toyota park, it sucks. I saw CSNY there, its the ugliest venue on the face of the other. It's also very hard to see the stage from the center of the lawn, which forces everyone to cram the right and left sides.
  5. Yeah and in order to secure large amounts of capital you need oppress lots of people.
  6. Why is that crazy? You think all of these people are acting independently and it just so happens that they're all full of shit? Its just a coincidence these people have the ability to shape our society? With their power you think they have no end goal? This is America we are imperialist capitalists the name of the game is go big or go home.
  7. If I remember they jam those CCR tunes out quite a bit, pretty damn good too if I remember correctly.
  8. Currently jamming along to 03/28./1990 Nassau (were you at this one lammy?). Branford sitting in for the whole second set and a killer Bird Song in the first set. Which got me thinking. Was curious what everyone's favorite sit ins with the band were, anyone?
  9. haha, reminds me an old friend. He once started drumming on my back at a medeski martin and wood show, the "please stop" warnings didn't get him, but the elbow in the stomach did! By the way I just read Confederacy Of Dunces.
  10. Wilco- 18 ( I think) Bob Dylan - 12 Phil Lesh - 12 (plus 3 more times with the dead) I've seen a ton of other acts 3-8 times, so many so that i can't even remember anymore.
  11. ha. pretty close, i eat my words.
  12. You really think he is gonna wanna be singing about powerful pills? lol I'm making my pick later but if people want to shoot me a pm and give me their pick I'm offering up some soundboards to who ever picks the opener. If the no one picks the opener for friday ill reward who ever has a pick that opens one of the other nights.
  13. VEry cool story.. If you aren't aware the Phish thoughts blog is doing a no spoilers post of the show supposedly an hour after the show ends. You'll be able to download the show with no track titles. I'm getting very excited, wish I could be in Virginia right about now.
  14. I'd say go with "Down The Highway" by Howard Sounes if you want an overview of his whole career. Get "Chronicles" its an easy read and gives some interesting insights, allow as others have said I don't how factual it is. Lastly I'd say pick up "On the Road with Bob Dylan: Rolling with the Thunder " By Larry Solomon, the book follows Ratso Rizzo on the rolling thunder review tour. Some very interesting stories and observations (including a meeting between Tom Waits and Bob, very funny).
  15. weird, just put on the dream bowl show starting with the doin that rag. Was jamming on the here comes sunshine (1973/04/02), another great 73 jam.
  16. That dicks picks is amazing (thanks for the tip mountainbed) as for 5/8/77 i personally love it. Maybe its the sound quality that grabbed me but that Dancing and the Scarlet/fire as mentioned before are classic. I personally prefer this to the other early May shows. What are your all favorite 77 shows?
  17. Youre only the second person I've herd talk about these angles of the Johnston and Erickson films. I couldn't help but feel both were being taken advantage of by their family members. While both stories do have inspirational slants it seems as though both still live difficult lives. This became extremely apparent the second time I saw Johnston at the Metro. Someone had called out that Johnston should "Stop singing these fucking sad songs", needless to say the concert ended only a tune later. From the onstage discussion it seemed they had much of the set still left to tackle. Alth
  18. new phish from 2002 "The victor sessions" http://phishthoughts.com/2009/01/23/tour-stop-the-gorge/ (linked at the bottom of the page) three tracks from these otherwise unheard sessions.
  19. w0w I thought that there would have been 50 dollar tickets in the back of the lower level, what a joke.
  20. I believe when they found the body of general george a. custer quilled like a porcupine with indian arrows, he didn't die with any honor, any dignity, nor any valor. I wouldn't doubt when they found george a. custer an american general patriot and indian fighter, he died with shit in his pants -mike watt
  21. the funny thing is I hadn't either. My girlfriend was talking to a friend of ours and he was joking the matt was a jesus freak (he was joking). I began to think and couldn't think of any lyrics that were more then religious in passing, but then i pop hold time in and right off the bat we are on Mount. Zion
