  1. As a fan of both bands I don't get all the criticism of both the bands. All 6 of the albums you listed have many many great songs. POP by U2 is probably my 2nd favorite album by them. All That You Can't Leave Behind has great songs (Peace on Earth, When I Look at the World, Walk On), Atomic Bomb is a little weak but still I spin it every once in a while. REM meanwhile the last three albums I still enjoy and listen to . Reveal has some classics ( Imitation, Rain, I've Been High, Beat a Drum) and Accelerate is an amazing album. I listen to that quite oftent. So I would still give the edge to REM
  2. Doesn't even hold a candle to last year!
  3. Headlines and Jaywalking are funny...rest of his show I don't like.
  4. Agreed on Walkmen! On a side note I am seeing them on next Tuesday and can't wait!
  5. Born in the USA was after Nebraska. Perhaps his most iconic?
  6. It does kind of look like a childrens book cover. I am sure the music will be fine though
  7. Obama has a 79% approval rating for his handling of the transition! http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/12/09/Obama.poll/index.html
  8. It is in my book! Been a fan for 14 years. Never saw them with Coxon. Their live show is phenominal (even with out Coxon). Playing Hyde Park as a headliner shows the anticipation for the size of this event. Sorry I am a little excited if you couldn't tell.
  9. http://emi.emreact.com/go.asp?/.parlophone...r.forms/bEMU001 Tickets on sale friday! I am going to do whatever I can to try and get there!
  10. I may not have seen Springsteen in the "prime" but I have seen him on The Ghost of Tom Joad, Tracks, Rising, Seeger Session, Devils & Dust and Magic Tours (About 20 shows in total) and have yet to be dissapointed with any release or show. Bruce is very passionate and his performances show it. I am not sure how he is a charachter of his former self...then again this is really the only Springsteen I have known. I am greatly anticipating the new tour and album! Bring it!

  12. I appreciate both those albums. If I made a top 50 those both would have been in my top 35 or so!
  13. My college booked Wilco the year after I left I did get them to book Guster. Which is I think the only concert we made money on! We had a good run though but barley made any money. We had Jon Stewart, Dave Chappel, Live, George Clinton, KRS One..also had a lot of crap Everclear, Everlast.....I did what ever I can to get semi decent artist but when you are voting with 15 not so musically inclined college students it was an exercise in futility!
  14. http://www.concertideas.com/search.php Wilco is only $50,000... Green Day $500,000!!!!!!! Looking at the list the Eels are a bargin! $7-10k!
  15. I agree...When they find her killer I hope he rots in jail!

Red-Eyed And Blue 8. I Got You (At The End Of The Century) 9. Someone Else's Song 10. Why Would You Wanna Live 11. I Must Be High 12. Passenger Side 13. Hotel Arizona 14. Monday 15. Kingpin 16. Outtasite (Outta Mind) 17. Casino Queen
  19. I like Junta but the second disc drags a bit too much . Not their strongest studio effort but still has some great tracks (I love Dinner and A Movie, Bowie, YEM). Phish really is a much better live band. As far as studio albums for Phish though I like Nectar, Hoist and Billy Breathes best....
  20. Yeah I find it funny that many bands are creative musically but not album title wise...

  23. Sure it is all opinions but I think UP is one of REM's most interesting albums! I am not sure I understand where Green is also uninteresting. I have listen to that album straight through numerous times. Reveal and Around the sun did lack but also did have many beautful songs. I often wonder the many people who do not like these albums if they gave them a real genuwine try. Maybe they listened to it once and decided it is not for them and moved on. I personally try and give every album in my collection at least 3 full spin throughs before I make a judgement on an album.
  24. You think RECKONING is trash?! I think you are fooling yourself
