  1. G&L ASAT Semi-hollow Tribute (korean made one). Nice guitar, but not as nice as the American Strat.
  2. On my never ending quest for gear, I have purchased a Fender US Highway 1 Strat and sold my telecaster. *picture* Strat
  3. Yea man, only real problem is that the new Vox/Korg quality control is shit. So find a dealer who will let you return it if it dies, or buy one pre-used/tested.
  4. Music Toyz also sells the Prunes and Custard, but they have it listed under hot cakes.
  5. Sorry, but the new Ac-15s are going for about 600 without the Celestion speaker (which imo is jsut a fancy, upgrade and actually doesn't sound as good) online so you could probably get it a little cheaper in a store. Also, just look for some kind of used amp. Got my Mesa/Boogie here for 300 bucks. Great little amp.
  6. IMO the Fender Hot Rod is too loud for an amp, unless you don't have a pa for your amp don't get the fender hot rod. I also personally do not like the tone, although it's too loud to turn up enough to open the amp up anyways. Ampeg amps are great i hear. If you're into all the pedals and stuff the Fender Pro Jr. will do you wonder (15 watts, 2 knobs). Also a Vox Ac-15 is right in there and kicks as much ass as the AC-30. If i were you though I would save up an extra hundred dollars and get the 800 dollar Fender Deluxe Reverb (22 watts, and beautiful).
  7. Well, IMO the neck is fast (minus the glossy finish which i can get over) and the pickups are just incredible, that's what makes me want to buy the guitar, it sounds just amazing. Through a fender twin it is the cleanest of clean and even when you play single notes (hi gain pickups) it's just as loud as a chord. Amazing Amazing Amazing, there is a reason Peter Buck, Mike Campbell, and all of the beatles play them.
  8. I was actually thinking about the SG classic for a bit, with a bigsby (psychedelia man), but then i noticed for 150 more dollars I could get a Rickenbacker. Then yesterday, I played a Rickenbacker, and i am in love. Also in a little cheaper price range is the Epiphone Sheraton 2. You'll need to switch the pickup selector out but it is amazing otherwise.
  9. It's in my signature too... too bad i don't have any real songs up.
  10. Actually.. I'm going to build a recording studio in my garage
  11. Do anyone know something about Reel to Reel recorders? Good Brands, Cheap Prices, etc. I'm looking into buying one and need help. Thanks, Charlie
  12. I really like G&L Tribute guitars. Cheap (300-600) and they sound fucking sweet, as they have american pickups in them. Actually sound just as good as an american strat (have better construction than a fender also).
  13. the scary thing is he uses a humidifier religiously while i don't...
  14. hmm in that price range i really love my taylor 110. 400-500 dollars. sounds really nice. haven't had any problems with mine but my friend's bridge decided to crack... although it is really dry here. But i just love my taylor and it sounds great!
  15. SRV tuned his guitar down half a step.
  16. I use Light gauge, Bronze Martin SPs on my acoustic, and Ernie Ball Super Slinkys on my electric (still in a state of flux..)
  17. Does anyone know a tab for this pretty woody song? the chords on gumbopages seems alright. Thanks! Charlie
  18. yep that sounds like it's just perfect... i think i'll be able to get it done by then. Thanks!
  19. Blah sorry guys i'm out.... i moved and now won't be getting recording equipment
  20. There are plenty of little 1 speaker amps out there... it's just a matter of looking and finding one used..
  21. Electric - G&L ASAT Tribute Semi-Hollow, pretty guitar (my guitar teacher loves to stare at it for my whole lesson) with fairly low action, big honky G&L pick-ups, warmness, and of course... twang Effects - 70s Maestro Phase Shifter (as seen in the wilco book).. perfect for those big star songs. TS808 Tubescreamer reissue... eh sounds like shit but works when you need mucho distortion. Boss CS-3, now this thing is perfect for playing your guitar louder when it's clean, or just overdriving your amp without fucking annoying tubescreamer sound. Amp - Mesa-Boogie Subway Blues, Verrry n
