Why all the focus on Vick? He won't be the starter. He's virtually irrelevant.

Our league eventually got enough teams. Here's my fantasy tip for the year: there's a lot of buzz about Liriano being back. -

I'm assuming that the VC league is already formed and ready to roll so I hope I am not stepping on anyone's toes by posting this. A league I'm in is looking for at least one more player. Possibly several more. It's a head-to-head yahoo league with an autodraft. You can edit your draft preferences ahead of time. IIRC, the stats are HR, RBI, AVG, SB, R, ERA, W, WHIP, K, and Saves. PM me for the league ID and password. -
The game I have worked on has been released!

The Nationals are starting Stephen Strasburg in AA, presumably to get another year of service time. He should be up in June or thereabouts. The White Sox, on the other hand, are probably breaking camp with a 26 year-old rookie at the back of the pen. Sergio Santos is going to play in the major leagues with fewer professional innings pitched than Strasburg because he's out of options. He's a converted shortstop who, other than a high K rate, never had success pitching in the minor leagues. He's pitched quite well in spring training. The one time I saw him on TV I thought his stuff was impr

As big of a Cub hater as I am, the taxes on tickets and other tourist expenditures are more fair than the public financing used to build, say, the new facility shared by the Dodgers and White Sox.

I'm also not a fan.

Warrick is a poor man's Tyrus Thomas. The Bulls don't care what he is--the just didn't want Salmons to potentially take up cap space next year.

I've read that as well. However, enough money can usually overcome an objection like that. That reported offer just seems way off compared to what other free agents are getting. The only similar deal that I can think of would be Abreu--and he signed early in the off-season when it wasn't clear that veteran hitters were going to sign for bargain prices.

The White Sox are reportedly in the mix for Damon. He would would primarily DH. That would reasonably happy, as their lineup would at least be middling. I gotta think that the reports of Detroit offering 2 years @ 7 mil/yr are Boras bologna, or he would have signed long ago.

My understanding is that it's not just 4500 signatures, but also a certain amount in every congressional district. Not going to happen. Apparently he wants the party bosses to pick the nominee, which is not very democractic (lowercase d).

Presumably she had her speech in paper form. The notes were for a Q&A.

I would like to point out that after I defended the Omar Vizquel and Andruw Jones signings as quality bench pieces, the White Sox have held firm on the ridiculous notion that they need "flexibility" at the DH spot. That is to say, they don't want to go the conventional route of using one good hitter as the DH. If they are to be believed, they are going to use the DH spot to give position players rest. This means plenty of ABs for Vizquel, Jones, and Mark Kotsay! Meanwhile, the Twins have filled the holes in their lineup. It seems like the Sox are wasting what may be the only year with these

Who was that video geared to--record shops? Wait, what? I'm pretty sure that no one cares about whatever that is....
