  1. Ok, I give up. What does that song have to do with Pokemon?
  2. Sorry that the merge is icky. For some reason it did not put the posts in chronological order.
  3. I'm not convinced that non-violent resistance couldn't have stopped Hitler. It would have had to have been at the right time. Most all of the churches fell in line with the Nazis. Of course people would been killed and tortured. Thus As it was, plenty of people were killed and tortured. And so instead we fight in Afghanistan against the remnants of the mujahideen, who were funded as part of the cold war, which was a result of World War 2, which was a result of World War 1. And on and on. And yet, surely Obama must be right. Surely if we fight enough good and just wars someday we will h
  4. He more or less guaranteed a build-up in Afghanistan during his campaign (unfortunately). That is not a flip-flop of any sort.
  5. They're supposedly about to get a power hitter (DH I assume). I'm sure the PTBNL pitchers in the Pierre deal will be nothing worth noting.
  6. Toronto is going to trade Michael Taylor (one of the 'spects they got from the Phillies yesterday) to Oakland for Brett Wallace (the latter of the Holliday trade and the very large posterior).
  7. Yeah, but it's D-U-M, dum. And there's like a jillion jokes along those lines out there.
  8. http://twitter.com/TBrownYahoo/status/6699446791 White Sox get Juan Pierre! Just the power-hitting corner-outfielder they needed!
  9. This is probably non-random enough for the big boy forum. I will move it there so it gets a wider audience.
  10. Retiring during off-seasons only is annoying. I mean, even Roger Clemens was at least "retired" for parts of seasons during his fake-outs. Something something vegetarian between meals something something.
  11. Well the Orthodox church celebrates Christmas in January. I don't think anyone really has the date or even the year pinned down.
  12. I heard a story on the radio recently about the pre-helmet days of football. They mentioned that the ivy league schools used to have elite teams, but the players were all hired goons.
  13. They did have Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me. That was pretty good. I edited my post about the song earlier, but I clicked the wrong button. It was something about being allergic to Bono's recent lyrics *cue generic piano riff*
  14. That movie is out. Kate said it was really good and the song was decent.
  15. Who's going to be the one to step up and visit Burma and/or North Korea?
  16. Big three-way trade http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20091208&content_id=7774288&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
  17. Street candy would surely glow and groove with the spirit of the street.
  18. You're wrong! Ignorant bastard. FUUUUCKK YOOOOUUUUUU! NO ONE BUYS DISCARDED STREET CANDY!
  19. I'm calling bullshit on most of the specific details of the story now that I think about it. I know it has been reprinted in several reputable papers. However, aren't there something like 100 people who that wealthy in the world? How many of them were women and recently died in Germany? It seems like the lawyer's secrecy would be ineffective and that one of these news organizations could do some research and figure out who the aunt could possibly be.
  20. I'm calling bullshit on "selling candy they found on the street."
  21. Manheim Steamroller and The Manhattan Transfer both have always made me kind of itchy.
  22. There was a bug that caused that when the board was upgraded. I had the same thing happen to me. I don't think it has to do with other people putting you on their list.
