  1. Thank you for the pic compliment. The bromeliad picture is not one of mine however.
  2. Not working from home today. In a bit, heading to the greenhouse to pick up my quarterly order of 48 bromeliads and install them. Did I mention it's only two days until I leave for vacation?
  3. A friend that works in the HR department of a major corporation says that this stuff works: And samorama recommended this site: http://www.erowid.org/plants/cannabis/cannabis_testing.shtml. Take some of the advice that has been given, or do more research on your own. The bottom line is no one on a message board is going to be able to give you a guarantee on a clean piss test, ya know?.
  4. Great afternoon at the Plaza Art Fair, an exciting juried show in a most beautiful location. Top notch place to watch people. This year it was very much like France, in that everyone brought their dogs. This artist caught my eye. She works weaving rattan and rush in 3 dimensions. Stunning work: And Johnny, I'm so glad you all were not rained out yesterday. Sounds awesome!
  5. I feel that today would be a good day to remove the air conditioning units.
  6. At the Columbia show last fall, Jeff was clutching his crossword puzzle book like a talisman. When kidsmoke asked him about it, he said he loved to do crosswords because it "quieted the voices" in his head.
  7. When I forget how to cry, I see you out alone, at night. My heart explodes in light, in sky, and I want to close my eyes. When I forget how to give, I see you out alone, with him. His heart explodes in light, in sky and I want close my eyes. I want to sing and bring good news to you. When I forget how to try, I'm wide awake alone, at night. My heart explodes in light, in sky but I have to close my eyes. I want to sing and bring good news to you. Off for a sunrise hike at the lake. Thankee!
  8. Then there were some of these: And this:
  9. This is how blue the sky was today:
  10. I agree with bjorn. I also think that cultivators of pot (and we're talking a mostly domestic product now) would not be interested in legalization. There is huge black market money in growing high quality weed. And it's not rocket science. One just has to be willing to take the risk. I'll bet with the rise of meth labs, the DEA has less manpower to sniff it out, too.
  11. Hey Johnny. Hunker down! Only venture out for Thai, beer and avant rock and roll!
  12. Eleusinian mysteries > Harvest Home
  13. The Eleusinian mysteries took place at this time, during which the initiate was said to have been shown a single piece of grain with the words "In silence is the seed of wisdom gained". Another aspect of these mysteries was "Know thyself" which seems appropriate for the coming months. During the Winter months energy levels drop and the Autumn Equinox is the time to ready ourselves, to look at our "harvest" of accomplishments, to refine and redefine our intentions.
  14. The Fall Equinox is also known as: Alban Elfed, Autumn Equinox, Autumnal Equinox, Cornucopia, Feast of Avalon, Festival of Dionysus, Harvest Home, Harvest Tide, Mabon, Night of the Hunter, Second Harvest Festival, Wine Harvest, Witch's Thanksgiving, and the first day of autumn.
  15. Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest is my lover among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste. He has taken me to the banquet hall, and his banner over me is love.
  16. I think that snow occurred at about 20 degrees F (-7 C). But cryptique is right, many deep snows occur near the freezing mark. Leather? I like silk myself.
  17. Thanks so much for sharing that. I didn't realize he was doing artwork for the courthouse as well. When you asked me to take photos I didn't really get the connection. His work is quite remarkable. There is a definite Thomas Hart Benton heroic common man feel about his mural. I really like it. He must have a pretty nice connection in KC to recieve these two huge commissions. I'm sure he can weather the politics.
  18. Interesting. He's still got the commission, though?
  19. caliber, you seem to have the wisdom of Solomon. Here's my question: If I eat sushi for dinner, does it ameliorate the fact that I plan to eat a hot chocolate chip cookie and ice cream for dessert?
  20. Also: Does eating sushi for dinner somehow cancel out the hot chocolate chip cookie and ice cream I plan to have for dessert? Perhaps I should 'Ask caliber'.
  21. You have beautiful kids, plasticeyeball. Funny, I was just getting ready to post this:
  22. Hi. I can't be bothered to find ction's Now Dining thread, so may I just say; sushi and porter. Bully Porter.
  23. Why do you think I'm travelling to the Hudson Valley for my autumn vacation? There's a rumor going around that you all have magnificent Indian Summers.
