  1. This is why I appreciate hecklers more than interviewers. The statement was so unguarded and poignant, it brought tears to my eyes also. Tweedy solo shows are enjoyable for his guitar mastery, since his style often gets lost in the larger band context. His playing seemed especially flourish-y last night, and I was really digging it. As to venue and drunks, yellers and phone abusers; Haven't been able to figure out why Tweedy/Wilco continues to play the Uptown, especially when there are a couple of wonderful mid-sized venues in/around KC that would be far better suited to this kind of seate
  2. "Jay Bennett was my friend". Solid set. Jeff and his gorgeous guitars were in fine voice. Acuff Rose off mic was Jeff at his best. And then there was this:
  3. This is new: Gueralita Newest Member I'm thinking that might be my youngest child. Time to quit the board.

  5. Walt's character came full circle in one episode. Commencement. Seriously brilliant writing.
  6. Walt's conversation with Skyler seemed completely off and out of character. I kept thinking that there was no way the writers were being so trite. But then it hit me. He was saving them. RIP Hank. What a wonderful character.
  7. Lou, the Owl & Bear interview I posted made it sound like the split was less benign than just Becker growing tired of it. In any case, it is too bad.

  9. Tweedy is playing my town and I might not go and I might just be ok with that. Tickets showed up on StubHub 15 minutes after they went on sale. $300 bucks for good seats. This process is badly broken. I'm out.
  10. Sure, just be sure to put it in quotes and footnote the reference.
  11. If Hank and Gomie bite it, there is no case against Walt. If Jesse bites it, there is no Walt/Jesse tension. It's the character interplay between Walt and Jesse that is the umami in the series for me. Three episodes to go. Jesse lives another week. I say Todd and Gomie are out.
  12. Side one was instantly perfect. Side two has been a creeper. Digging it though really missing Jim Becker in the mix. Matt do you have a link to purchase? Never even knew about this!
  13. My daughter informed me tonight that if I don't host this show, she is going to "run away from home".
  14. Hmmm interesting. Tim said at some point during the lr tour that the Stitches tour would be some configuration of Califone. That would be so kick ass mb! I will keep you posted.
  15. Oh my pleasure! The best part of VC is sharing the good news. Considering hosting the KC show. Anybody want to come see me the end of September?
  16. If you missed Rutili in the spring, Here's the autumn rendition to coincide with the release of Stitches. Makes me wonder though if there will be a full band tour, more than the few venue shows already announced. http://www.undertowmusic.com/hosts-needed-califone-living-room-tour/
  17. Makes me happy you got to see this! Ha! It seems Tim has a bit of a body function bent to his conversation. Both times I have seen him the banter has taken a definite turn to the scatological.
  18. I heard the first seconds of this and was reminded of Tim Hurley's vocals and sound in Sin Ropas.
