  2. Not bad actually. Very 60s sounding thing that alternates between Nuggets-lite songs and folkier Dylan/Baez ditties. I was expecting Moldy Peaches type dreck and the references to blowjobs and tricks sort of goes to the same place, but it's better than that, ie the songs have melodies. Think I like the louder stuff better. I will up the thing at the place.
  3. who is this UnkL Tup-El that you speak? An south coast rapper? (actually a rap version of Atomic Power would be pretty cool) The Dutchess and the Duke

  6. Billy Corgan wasn't even that bad, but talk about a shot for shot literal interpretation. (That looks absolutely terrible - god help us all, indeed) ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Don't you have the slightest curiosity about what Watchmen director Zack Snyder is doing with your work? ALAN MOORE: I would rather not know. He's supposed to be a very nice guy. AM: He may very well be, but the thing is that he's also the person who made 300. I've not seen any recent comic book films, but I didn't particularly like the book 300. I had a lot of problems with it, and everything I heard or saw about t

  10. woot! Do you remember the one you received if you got a gold level from all of the fitness tests? It had a n embrodered laurel wreath around it. I bet mine is in that big box of stuff that my parents try to return every time I visit.
  11. Laydown Love this song from Chikita Violenta and love the integration of a band member's old super eight footage. They are a better Broken Social Scene than Broken Social Scene these days.
  12. Thanks Jimmy! Just found out that these guys are playing a total dive up here on July 26th. Wahoo. Bet I will be the only person there. 'Whispered little sound Pumelled to the ground Cackle at the sun'
  13. trying to keep up with the cool kids: who is the second voice on Lost Coastlines? Or is that Sheff just singing on the low down?
  14. So there is an unofficial Polaris concert tonight, meant to celebrate the fact that Basia and Shad both got nominated and that this relatively small city is the only place with 2 nominations this year. It's taking place at the absolute best venue in town and I really want to go. Except neither Basia or Shad have lived here for a while. Neither Basia or Shad will be in attendance and of the 4 bands, two of them make me want to vomit and rip my ears from my head. And the two absolutely terrible bands, well, they are the headliners. 2 steps forward, 2 steps back for the local music scene.
