  1. still Romi Mayes. Can't wait to get one of these Shirts:
  2. There are a number of RS fans around here, course I think everyone should LOVE this band. I was tempted to drive down to Cleveland for the Beach ball room show, but it's like early March and the weather around the great lakes has really sucked lately. Glad the Chicago show was great!
  3. Never thought I'd agree with your sorry, trolling, good-for nothing ass, but, the Search is hitting the button much more than Sky Blue Sky. Also haven't said anything remotely like that since Trace kicked AM's behind.
  4. just listening now. Isn't it really strange that both Jay and Jeff have falsetto portions in their new songs? As a rule, grown men should avoid this
  5. 'It's useless to complain I'll be the other dame'
  6. All fucking right!!!!! Mary Weiss w/ Reigning Sound! will perform on on Late Night with Conan O'Brien (NBC) March 13. signed the Streeteamer/spamer/Ms Greg Cartwright
  7. Ohh, I like Balls (both kinds). Hmm, I have got most of the BFB stuff, but not the Adams solo. Right now I'm thinking that Welcome Home Loser and Jesus Songs are 2 of the best things I've heard this decade. Uhh, how familiar are you with the wonders of YSI?
  8. Yeah - I was thinking the same thing - Ryan Adams when Ry-Ry was more consistent. Let's make a thread about him and I'll send you some samples of No Never Alone. It doesn't do his live show justice, so take a listen to this from a recording at the Cameron House. It's like when Adams worked a room without being drunk, or arrogant or constantly on the defensive about 'Summer of 69' heckles. (that's him on Dolly's right orb) Justin Rutledge - Don
  9. oh shit sorry - you already know more about them than I do. anyway, I haven't been playing much else lately.
  10. Yeah - BFB do a cover of King of Carrott Flower Parts 2 and 3. The wail is not quite like Mangum's, but I still really like it. Matt and I have been going on and on about a new to me band - the Broken Family Band. I've not been too much of an anglophile lately, but went and made a big order to amazon UK after not being able to find anything on the filesharers. The NMH cover is on with a sample here: http://www.thebrokenfamilyband.com/music/
  11. I like Jesus Songs the most. I think it's because all the songs are about, well Jesus. Poor Little Thing, Kissing in the Rain, Walking back to Jesus Part 2 and then the cover of Neutral Milk Hotel. That's a pretty high quality release. But - as you say, the quality is all around. Just glad you're liking them too. I think they may be a real acquired taste band. 'Leave motorcycle man and come with me We could ride horses Although I don't like horses We could walk dogs And we could kiss Whenever you want'
  12. Isn't it just a great band!! Cold Water Songs was the last one I actually got and so am least familiar with. I'm also loving that song from Balls about 'I want you to die with my hands 'round your throat With me in the castle and you in the moat And everyone you know stood around laughing I want you to swing from a tree Or fry in a chair while you're looking at me And everyone in the world will be glad when you're gone It was safe to say that we were never happy...... I want you to move to Australia With me a success and you facing failure With all of your friends refusing your
  13. there's a dog sleepin in my bed if i tickle his balls, he gives me sweet head
  14. wrens - ulu 02/17/2007 - Propane http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/2/21/803899/propane.mp3 38 hours since I got you home safe 42 gallons of your favourite propane 9 bibles to put your head on picking up signals from a vacant highway throwing down marbles in a field of stray boys stop mister it's not my time now
  15. cover of Joanna Newsomes' Sadie: http://www.microphoner.com/tracks/demos/03...ewsom_cover.mp3 I guess that's only way I can listen to Newsome - when some body covers her.
  16. I think this place lists them all. Good Hunting! http://home.no.net/teenage/fanclub/index.htm BTW - I think it was board member Nettel's band Cordalene that was supposed to open for the fannies on a 2001 tour. If I remember correctly, it never happened because in all the terrorism related hub-bub, the Fannies could not get visas. Too bad, and I guess this post serves as a plug for the power-pop goodness of Cordalene.
  17. Yeah - makes you wish they would get the 'Pavement' treatment doesn't it. (it may be that this has already happened and I'm hopelessly behind the time) My favourite Fannies cover would be Four Strong Winds.
  18. here is song: http://download.yousendit.com/8E58551C132858A4 1. Neil Jung (Blake) 4:51 2. Traffic Jam (Blake) 3:16 3. Hi-Fi (McGinley) 2:11 4. I Heard You Looking (Hubley/Kaplan/McNew) 12:43 Format: CDS Year: 08/1995 Label: Creation Records Cat.no.: CRESCD 210X (slimline jewel case) Country: UK
  19. They're Mr November, They won't fuck us over
  20. my favourite Fannies song is 'Hi-Fi' and I believe it was some obscure b-side from Grand Prix. I always though that a band who could just toss off a song like that were unnaturally talented. Great band.
  21. L - So far it's only come through as a Myspace Bulletin - but the dates are all listed on their page: http://www.myspace.com/oxmusic Hope you like it. I wandered into a Weework showcase party in the fall - mainly to see the BROOD and OX blew me away. Really nice guys too! To pimp further, check out (if you haven't already) the artists in Weework record's stable. I think they are battling a thousand. I can't think of another label that I'd pick stuff up sound-unheard. GLS, the Barmitzvah Brothers and the BROOD - they are so brimming with good musical taste that it must leak out
  22. another Canadian band shows you smug Italian Beef eaters how things should be done. Pretty cool that the Blog guy (songs:illinois ??) is getting a house party. I'm gonna try and get to the Silver Dollar for CMW and say hello to Jenny/Andrew from the Barmitzvah Brothers/Two Minute Miracles.
