Last night was TWEEDY

The acoustic set happened after Slow Love. The Mavis covers were in the encore also. love like a wire was brilliant! I got to hear it twice at soundcheck and again at the show. Such a pretty tune. Jeff's voice on it was fantastic.

That set list is missing a couple things at the end of it. Encore: 25 - Jesus Wept (Mavis Staples cover) Only The Lord Knows 26 - Love Like a Wire (Diane Izzo cover) Cali Stars Acuff-Rose (w/o PA)

The liner notes are amazing guys. The pictures! It's like he's sharing a family album with us or something.

Oh yeah! Another funny bit was Jeff had an itch on his back and he got Spencer to scratch it and said Spencer gives the best back scratches.

Fantastic show tonight. Pretty standard as far as the TWEEDY sets go. No new additions to the front part of the set. All things we've heard before. I'll amend the post tomorrow to include the list. Darin gave my husband a set list. Banter tonight was some of the best I've heard from jeff probably ever. A lot of talk about poop. it all started with Jeff saying he saw a dung beetle rolling a turd. It devolved into him saying he pooped a sideways turd. It feels more intimate than a Wilco record has ever felt, almost to the point where I feel like I'm intruding as a listener. I do love it though. Listened through this morning and I can't wait to hear it on vinyl next week. Wondering if any of the songs not previously played live will make it into this upcoming run of shows. I hope so!

I think it was 06 when the first ever wilco guitar was given away, so that would make it 8- however it could have been 08. point is: i've been entering these contests a long time.

I'm trying to remember when Jeff went on there with TWEEDY in june. I know Handsome Family started around 7:45... initially the venue said Jeff would be done at 10:30, but he played until a little after 11.

Paul McCartney has little screens with the words on them like a teleprompter. I watched some documentary where he was angry with the tech for missing one word in "Yesterday". I thought it was very funny, also as I type this it occurs to me that it was probably staged.

I sure hope the "Evening With Wilco" means what we think it means for this upcoming jaunt. Surely, because it meant that back in 09-10 it will again. Because that show layout, at the Ryman would be amazing. I imagine they'll go on at 8:30 or so and be off around 11, because the Ryman's got a pretty strict 11-11:30 curfew.

Pretty sure the pair of them for night 2 are spoken for. I do have 1 extra for night 2. Pretty sure, also, they're not going to cancel the orders either, as my husband's credit card has been charged.

front row center for knoxville. my husband and i won't be sitting together, he'll be 6 rows behind me, but that's okay.

I hope I win that damned guitar. I've been trying for 6 or 8 years to win a wilco guitar at this point, dang it!

I think we are going to try to stay somewhere cheap outside of Nashville the night between shows. We can't afford the usual place we go (Embassy Suites on Broadway) because we've ended up with 3 extra tickets that we can't use (hoping my friend takes 2 of them) Ended up buying about $500 worth of tickets. :-/
