  1. I got to drum with Glenn also, and it was such a blast. He is such a nice guy, and man it was fun to work with him! Earlier in the morning on Sunday, my friend and I saw him in Courtyard D, and he stopped for a second and said "hey! how's it going, bandmates!" That piece was so cool too. There's video on youtube too.
  2. That show was incredible. My husband got the set list the next day from a security guard that pulled it out of the garbage, and that second encore, had it happened, would have been the most awesome thing, but alas. I can't remember all the 6-7 songs that were on it- I remember seeing Thirteen, but didn't look too close because as soon as we got it we gave it to this guy that hung out up front with us. He was from Brazil, and it was his first real Wilco show (well, Friday I guess was his first technically, but Sat was the "rock" show). He needed that list more than we did. Anyway, it was am
  3. I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you. My group got there at 8am or before EVERY single day to secure our rail spots for the Wilco/Tweedy shows. We took turns manning camp and it was only left unattended one time because my husband needed a bathroom break while the rest of us were drumming with Glenn or watching the performance. In the 10 minutes he was gone, teenagers actually moved our stuff to try to watch (edit: Feliece Bros, not Mac Demarco) He came back and explained we'd been there for the entire day (in our case 9am because we got authorization to go in before doors to make sure we
  4. I think my word choice was off, I meant something along the lines of approved. TN heat is frying my brain.
  5. after basically 13 years on this website I actually get to go to a "sanctioned" event!!
  6. Watching a doc on netflix called "happy valley" about the penn state scandal, and they use "country disappeared" in the opening credits... logged on just as it started playing and said "what the hell?!" super weird.
  7. I saw it back a few weeks ago At the downtown theatre. Was surprised there were more people there besides me and my sister. I think 10-12 other folks were there. Loved it so much. Can't wait to buy it. I never got the chance to see him live. There's another doc about him that is supposed to be coming out also (I think)...
  8. I wish I was a millionaire so I could go to this. Dang.
  9. I was there! We drove 7 hours for this show because it was on my 28th birthday. Wow. What a show it was! I was really happy that Jeff honored all 3 of my requests! (Nothingsever..., Far Far Away, and Hummingbird). A friend told me that St. Louis Wilco shows were special, and man they were right. Jeff definitely seemed very humbled and simultaneously super proud to be playing where he grew up. Very cool they recorded the show so his dad could listen, also. I hope it makes it into the roadcase too. The band was just as good as the last time I saw them in the fall. All the songs sounded
  10. everybody gets Replacements for their birthday this year, apparently. Another friend is seeing them in OH for his b-day.
  11. What an awesome birthday present for you, Lou!
  12. Totally. I bug the hell out of the 1,800 person venue we have here in Chattanooga to book Wilco. They book bands that play the same size venues that wilco plays all the time. It would be a sell out for sure. I'm holding hope it will happen one day.
  13. it was nowhere near his pedalboard. he did it to be a dick.
  14. it was for 2 seconds while i took my jacket off. he was being an asshole. AND the woman to my left had like 3-4 emtpy cans sitting there. He didn't kick her shit. Only mine.
  15. I rested a cup of water on the lip of the stage once at a 97's gig, and Ken Bethea kicked it into my face. I don't go to Old 97's shows anymore. Yeah, it used to be, for sure.
  16. Gotcha, see, when somebody posted 1:10 I read it as time of day, not time of set length. Very bizarre for sure.Though, for people going, it's neat I guess to see them on a smaller stage.
  17. Unsure if this has been discussed before, but I noticed a striking melodic symmetry between "Where My Love" from Tweedy, and the tune "All The Same To Me" from Golden Smog... has anybody else heard it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vgw-Hzy11bM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OC4hZ4J-CD8
  18. I sort of regret it, because I bet RA will have it at the shows we're seeing next week at the Ryman. On topic- the hold steady re-issue of Boys and Girls In America sounds awesome. I'm so glad this record was a grower, because I HAAAATED it at first.
  19. Also, I feel like the $12 I paid for the Ryan Adams single was a complete rip off. The store I go to gouges the hell out of the stuff they get, but they're the only store in town that gets stuff. Double edge sword I guess. Really looking forward to checking out the records at Vintage Vinyl in St. Louis in a couple weeks.
  20. If I get back to my record store on Friday- I'll see if they've got any left. If they do I will snag you one.
  21. I've been front row a couple times for Tweedy/Wilco, but the one show that is going to be forever in my mind as the best show I have ever seen/been at, and had amazing seat was Paul McCartney in Nashville this past fall. 3 rows from the stage. I made eye contact with a Beatle. Pretty much never gonna top that unless I one day end up somehow singing with Jeff...
