Wilco — 2/10/16, Atlanta, GA (The Tabernacle) [Night 1 of 2]
SarahC replied to bböp's topic in After The Show
I hope we get Spiders tomorrow. Excellent show. I can't say anything else that would add anything. It was one of the hardest shows for me to get through for several reasons. I cried harder than I every have cried. Not much banter at all. -
Had my Wilco ski hat stolen from pocket during Atlanta show.

Anybody else planning to be in line early in ATL?

Awesome! I always like to meet VC folks. I feel like maybe we'd met before at the Fox Theater maybe?

Wilco — 1/29/16, Boston, MA (Orpheum Theatre) [Night 1 of 2]

I laughed at "unexpected Jesus Etc." -
I don't think we will have to worry about overcrowding too much. The couple shows I've seen there were sold out, and we were close to the front. It didn't feel too crowded. The only wilco show I ever felt too crowded at was Sloss Furnace in 2012. I think we're gonna try to get to the tabernacle around noon both days.

What a bunch of horse manure. That dude needs something better to do.

Good to know. I think our plan tentatively is early afternoon. Hoping it will be easy to get up front. What's in the area now? Last time we saw a show there we ate at the CNN center food court.

We have GA tickets both nights. Wondering what time we should plan to be there to achieve a front row spot? I've never been to a weekday show at the tabernacle, and I can't remember a lot about it. I was last there 4 years ago for Rufus Wainwright. I'm looking forward to these shows more than anything else going on in my life right now. So far 2016 is the worst.

Kid sister bailed on me. Hoping to re-home an extra ticket to the Thursday Wilco show at the Tabernacle in ATL. We can meet there or I can mail the ticket to you, as it is a physical ticket. $55 is what I paid after fees.

that's an awful blurb. Jeff is nothing like Han.

Wow. This thread came back! I love them too. They're my sister's favorite band. Like her wilco.

I was thinking the same thing too. It's very strange.

Yes! I'll put in a vote for that one if you put in a vote for the electric spiders (kidsmoke) for feb 10 in atlanta. -
I blame Shaky Knees.

My gut says both. My past experience at other 2 night runs says night 2.

Some people don't have the luxury of traveling a few hours both ways to see shows, and being that it is a bigger city that is a market Wilco has played a number of times in the past, I can understand the frustration. Am I frustrated that I've never seen Wilco in my hometown? Nah, but I sacrifice going to and doing a lot of activities and events specifically to go see Wilco 2+ hours from my city. Wilco has played my town once. In 1999. At a shitty hole in the wall that no longer exists. I keep hoping and praying they'll come back to the new venue that's on par with the Tabernacle, or the Page

There's still a ton of tickets left for both Atlanta shows. For fun I put the max amount of GA tickets in my cart for both nights. Very strange it hasn't sold out yet, though they were in Atlanta in May for Shaky Knees.

thanks! I have trouble with stairs, so my husband will probably hurry ahead to secure our spots- hoping it won't be too crazy to get the rail. I can't help but worry about it now even though it's 4 months away. My best advice is to show up to the venue that afternoon, find the stage door, and hang out there. Or near the tour buses. The afternoon is good, because they usually soundcheck anywhere between 2-4. I do this at basically every show I go to to say hey. They're nice people.

I'm very much looking forward to the tabernacle shows. Ended up grabbing another pair of tickets for my sister and a friend today, so it should be great. My sister hasn't seen wilco since 2011. Getting tickets on livenation this morning was no problem for GA in Atlanta- a nice change from the chaos last year when Ryman tickets went on sale. Can y'all give me a good description of how to get to stage from the entrance of the Tabernacle? It's been a leg time since I've been there and can't remember anything but scary stairs. Already planning rail riding. How early do folks line up at the ta

Let's all hope for good weather in those weeks.
