from the Guardian today...

3 - 0 now after a dubious penalty... However, Raul is on as a sub so it could all go wrong!

Spain 2 - Ukraine 0... latest score after 30 mins! For anyone who likes their commentary with a bit of humour, look no further than the Guardian: http://football.guardian.co.uk/worldcup200...1788236,00.html Great stuff! Typical quote:

Hmmm - he's only done one thing all game so far, one shot that was close, but no cigar... I'd like to see Robinho, so get him on!!
-
Fantastic individual goal by Kaka has meant Brazil are leading 1-0 at half time. Worst part is that Ronaldo looks completely uninterested and, if it must be said, a bit fat...
-
Yeah - actually we still play headers & volleys whilst we warm up for 5-a-side football, it's just a shame my volleys would be better for rugby conversions than football goals
-
Does sound like a very exciting finish - just a shame it was on ITV in the UK so I couldn't watch it at my desk

It's ALWAYS worth baring in mind that I'm Welsh And I perhaps listen to the Decemberists too much

Sorry guys - yes belter and stonker are ways of saying that something was really, really good!!

I was also unscathed on my biking journeys this weekend for a change - must get some lights though! Ahh... your infamous Clapton house story - I think the others need to be told

Not impressed with England, but hey, 3 points is 3 points. I thought the Holland v S & M (copyright BBC pundits) was a stonker and the Argentina v Ivory Coast was a belter too.

Sooooo... your predictions then ladies and gents: Winner: Holland Top Scorer: Ronaldinho Anyone else?

Ditto... And if it wasn't for this thread, I wouldn't even have "met" her... Oh, and summer's here!

Now I'm really REALLY jealous

cool! I really wanted to catch these guys but didn't come to my town

Nothing from About Face, he stuck to the new album and old Floyd material... Just to see them play Echoes live is enough for me and for Bowie to come on as well. There were other guests for the other two nights; Mica Paris on Tues and Nick Mason on Wed, but I think we had the best night with Bowie... still can't quite believe it!!!

What typo I think I'm getting too old for the partying till dawn too - the following day was a bit of a struggle! I was expecting the "Morning Campers" as well, but it didn't happen

Welsh Rich replied to Albert Tatlock's topic in Someone Else's Song
I read this yesterday... could be interesting... I hope it's good, but at 11 minutes it's going to go on a bit! I also own the Orb's Blue Room... great track and single! -
Well, I wasn't disappointed by my first time to this music festival and it's definitely the way to do things; chalets are great as are your own cooking facilities, toilets and showers! Too much to write again, so here's a link to my reviews: Friday: Dinosaur Jnr day http://www.cdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=2955 Saturday: Sleater-Kinney day http://www.cdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=2957 Sunday: The Shins day http://www.cdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=2958

I'd certainly rather pay to see him than Waters' take on things...

'Tis a good movie that... very dark though and not exactly easy viewing. I videoed this again for the umpteenth time on the tele on Sat night: I really must get it on DVD as it's become a favourite of mine.

No, it was Arnold Layne, I was just being stupid, the crowd were so loud it drowned out most of the song!

That's a really great book and shook me out of my post-Uni not reading rut I'd found myself in. Really impressive writing.

So, with it being just over 10 years since my Dad took me to one of my first concerts which was Pink Floyd at Earl's Court, I returned the favour and treated him to David Gilmour at the RAH. I paid a bit for the seats and was really pleased with them; near the front, to the right and very close to the stage. The first half of the show kicked off with Speak To Me / Time which sounded great, great swathes of guitar that had everyone tingling. He then proceeded with a rendition of the new album, On An Island, in full. Sounding a little less produced, as if the music had more of a chance to brea
