  1. I liked it, but some of it felt like she was trying a little too hard to do something a bit different. I really don't like the title track. However, the opening couple of tracks are superb and she's got such a fantastic voice. Her music always makes me think of the opening landscapes of Nolan's Insomnia film for some reason...
  2. The Airbag EP, if it's the same one I've got, has some great stuff on it. OK Computer singles b-sides mainly, but they're really good. This morning:
  3. Yeah, that Low album is pretty special... Not heard this for a while... good packing / cleaning music
  4. If you like 65daysofstatic, then yeah... it's not quite as bombastic as their previous stuff, but it's good. Sometimes I kinda wonder where "post-rock" as a genre can go... we'll see, these guys mixing it up with beats and more electronica is certainly interesting.
  5. I bought Happy Days the other day - it's an album with one track on it which last 47mins... More of his acoustic, alt-folk stuff with twists of noise...
  6. Bit late to this one, but hope you had a great day fella!

  8. Well, I'd not heard of her, but the descriptions of her voice certainly make me what to check her out... Apparently Sir Dylan was a fan...
  9. Nice piece by Mike Scott about the Waterboys and righting the wrongs of his Wikipedia entry!
  10. I'm moving house at the moment, so all my CD's have been packed up. However, I've kept some behind to listen to in the car and like for the next week whilst it happens, but one of them is On the Beach.
  11. Definitely - it's such an brilliant record, amazing that it's only recently come out on CD. It's a record, I think, that'll never date.
  12. The Boy with the Arab Strap is, by a long way, my favourite B&S record. Also worth checking out is the double disc b-sides and rarities album Push Barman to Open Old Wounds, which has some of their best stuff on it...
  13. You're not going to get much sleep listening to The Thermals They're good fun though, answered a couple of questions I mailed them this week - Hutch is a touch paranoid! Found out these guys are playing Cambridge in May, gotta get me some tickets.
  14. On The Beach is a must - it's brilliant. Then I like Harvest Moon and the MTV Unplugged along with Freedom and Sleeps With Angels Ok... so not a small list A lot of them are available cheaply now, I know there's record shops in the UK that are doing them for
