Wilco in Quebec in July?

Recommended Posts

No Vancouver date? Edmonton and Calgary but no Vancouver? Lame! I mean fuck, they're playing Halifax but not Vancouver?!

Patience, Grasshopper. I'm sure a Vancouver date is coming soon (I'm crossing my fingers for the Commodore Ballroom). Hopefully, they can squeeze in Victoria as well.

BTW, Nels Cline is scheduled to play the Vancouver International Jazz Fest on June 23 & 25. Hmm...

Lots of other stuff too of course, but some great names this year.

I just did a little detective work and almost every decent venue in the city is booked solid from June 23 - July 2 because of the @#$% Jazz Festival (including the Commodore Ballroom :cryin ). The Orpheum appears to be free on June 27th, but it takes 11+ hours to drive from Vancouver to Calgary so that might be cutting it a bit close. (???)

Basically, we could be screwed.

'JUL-01 WINNIPEG, MAN BURTON CUMMINGS THEATRE'

Canada Day in the Peg at the Burton Cummings Theatre. Hmm, I would hope they break out some covers and do American Woman or These Eyes. I don't know how the Weakerthan's 'One Great City' would go over, but it would also be an option.

For my city, I've got the Nilhist Spasm Band and the Demics. Cool to hear a cover the punk classic 'I wanna go to New York city'

hmmm - Wilco's site shows a Toronto show at Massey Hall on July 8th but the MH website shows a Solomon Burke show that night with ticket sales having started in early March.
