OOO
Did you listen to it??? I mean Im sorry but its horrendous. They need to practice more and get someone that can sing or lessons for the current singer. Yes, I listened to all the songs they posted, and not just once. They don't sound exactly like Wilco, and the lead singer doesn't sound like Jeff Tweedy. Thats not the point. It's fun (for me at least) to hear people having fun playing the Wilco songs they love. I would guess you are not a musician yourself, because you would know letting other people hear you perform is a very scary thing, and when you use words like "horrendous" and tell people they can't sing, its flat out mean. Critique Wilco all you want, they are a professional band and aren't reading every post on this board anyway, but I can't imagine why you would post mean spirited criticism about fans making fun songs. I, for one, look forward to more songs online from the late greats.

Kicking_Television
i myself, thought i was pretty good
jhc
Shit, it's an amateur band with an emphasis on the fun rather than perfection. Anyway, Tweedy thought we were good, in a Langley School sort of way (he seriously said that) BTW, there is no lead singer - almost every song was sung by a different person. The group can't afford voice lessons for a dozen singers, so we'll have to suffer along as is. Personally, I thought the wah wah guitar in Casino Queen was wonderful
sFolk
fyi, the late greats are made up of students from the old town school of folk music in Chicago. the only professional musician in those recordings is the drummer, and he's actually a guitar player just filling in on drums. this is a group that spends the week working as teachers, government workers, lawyers, engineers, writers, grad students and stuff like that. for some, this was their first time ever singing in front of an audience. it's really all about having fun, playing music we enjoy. and hey, if you can't go see wilco live, you can see the late greats for free. we don't make a cent on any of our shows. and at some of the venues, you can even bring your own beer.
