I'm Sorry but you got to give it up to the Cane players to jumped in that fight to help defend their fellow teammates. and as for the announcer..... That Hurrican pride.... You gotta love it.. it made him mad, he wanted to go help, like he said you dont talk about the U like that. Gotta, just gotta love that pride. i just admire the fact the whole bench came to the aid of the canes on the field. And isnt the announcer Lamar Thomas....a former Cane and Dolphin? To that cane pride and protection :notworthy.gif

And that is why UM is a joke.

I imagine Michigan fans will care quite a lot if it has national title repercussions. As for OSU winning or losing, there's a pretty strong probability that one or the other will happen.

You obviously haven't spent much time in Michigan.

Yes, U-M loves to crush Sparty. They love to crush the Irish even more. But the OSU game is the one everyone looks forward to each year.

As an alumni of the University of Michigan, I must go on record to say that OSU matters exponentially more than MSU. It's not close, it's never been close, it never will be close. I have no idea where anyone would get the impression that MSU matters more, except maybe from a Spartan.

I believe this was just a nasty rumor circulated by UM fans during the not-so-good-with-the-winning-against-Michigan Cooper years in Columbus, to get under teh skin of OSU fans. And it worked (now we really hate Michigan. :lol ). But if ever the rivalry became downplayed on the UM side, I think the Bucks have got their attention again after the last few years. So yeah, the possibilty of those two teams being undefeated when they meet in November, its a pretty big deal. For anybody who doesn't believe it when they say stuff like this on ESPN, that game REALLY WILL be a bigger deal to fans than the national championship game.

I dunno about the shootings, but burning couches are a pretty good bet. Not that I'm condoning it or anything, but.......aw, hell, who doesn't like to burn some furniture in the middle of the street, occasionally?? :cheers

OSU has always been a bigger deal to us than MSU. The in-state rivalry doesn't really matter. Even if Michigan losses a game to MSU we still "own" the state. One game isn't going to change the 66-28-5 all-time series. The OSU game determines the Big Ten title more times than not.

Oh. Okay. And you're right. Never been to Michigan. And I really dislike OSU football. Just thought I'd ask some folks who knew better than I. Thanks for clearing this up. :thumbup

I know this is a BIG if...but IF the Irish win the rest of their games they could be in for some serious BCS action.Michigan & OSU can't both win that game.

In order for the Irish to have a shot at the national title game, USC, West Virginia and Louisville would all have to lose, and their losses would probably have to be worse than Notre Dame's was (at least in USC's case--the other two could be dropped below ND due to their weak conference I guess). Doesn't seem very likely.

Edit: Just realized USC's loss would be to Notre Dame, so yeah, the Irish would get the nod over USC in that scenerio. Still a long shot for everything to fall into place for them though. And honestly, if they're really looking at picking the two best teams....well, if the Michigan vs. Ohio State game is close, I really think a good case could be made for a rematch in the national title game. Of course I know that that isn't really how it works though.

You're spot on there..and a rematch would be really cool.I'm really grasping at straws here,as is usual (at this time of the season) for the last 20 years :D
