Eleven years is exactly half of my life, so yeah, I kind of relate him to the Cardinals and only the Cardinals. I vaguely remember when they hired him right around the strike / post-strike when nobody cared about baseball anymore. At that point I was balls deep in my Brett Favre love.

No bigger a dick than David Ortiz, or Derek Jeter (remember how he threw A-rod under the bus this year?), or Kenny Rogers (attacked a camera man for doing his job), or any number of star athletes who are dicks. Most are.

How's Papi a dick, yo? I'm not saying I know personally that he's a not a dick.

Remember when he was whining about giving Jeter the MVP? That was about as bad as Pujols whining about this guy not thinking he'd make it to the majors.

With every prospect it's 50-50 at best that they'll make it. Think of all the great prospects who never even made it.

I think bobbob was referring to what Jeter said about A-Rod to the media, not anything that went on between them in private. There's a big difference between not being best of buddies in the clubhouse, and actually talking shit about a teammate to a reporter. Big difference.

I thought Ortiz's comments were sort of whiny, but not really dick-ish.

I don't think Pujol's comments in that article were any more dick-ish. It was the same motivation.

What was the point of that, by the way?

I mean believe me, I appreciate the compliment, really, but what was your motivation? I'm curious what kind of thought goes into such well articulated posts.
