dustbowler
I'm pretty sure it's one of the limited edition Vox AC 30 head and cabs. Look here ac
Gobias Industries
I didnt know Nels liked Jaguars? I thought he was a died in the wool Jazzmaster dude, interesting. Sure someone has posted this link before but Nels talks all about his gear right here: http://www.nelscline.com/tech.html Is the red SG a 69? I wish the rest of the band had a definitive gear list... I know it would be huge but what a great read it would be. He plays the Jaguar on What Light and Hummingbird. Mostly because Jaguars have 22 frets as opposed to 21, so Nels can hit the high D on the Hummingbird outro and etc. Cline still plays a Danelectro. I saw it myself, it was a brown natural sort of color, imagine his Double-cut LP except more brown, and it's single cutaway. He also sports a really new Jazzmaster this time around, it's a shiny red finish. Or he got one of his old ones refinished.
FourStrongWinds
I stand corrected then, its just that cab looks just the same as the combo since they usually look like thishttp://www.davesguitar.com/product/V212BN.JPG
jff
Or he got one of his old ones refinished. Highly unlikely. I think I saw a photo of him playing a white one with the Nels Cline Singers. I've also seen the red one. I suspect he bought a few guitars now that, for the first time in his adult life, he's making some decent money.
Scott Gyrrr
About the Vox head/ cab/ combo thing, isn't it likely the head goes into the combos speakers and he uses a foot switch to select between combo amp and the head amp?
beenthere
If memory serves me correctly, wasn't there a stretch where Jeff played a Gibson Flying V? Does he just not play that one anymore, or is it only for a certain song these days?
stickman
There's one in the Wilco Book and it says something along the lines of he doesn't really play it. Or it was a gift. Or something, memory is failing.
colm
I think Nels' Dano is a baritone. I've no idea if he uses it with Wilco, but on his website Nels mentions that he has a Jerry Jones baritone
WaronWar
I've no idea if he uses it with Wilco, but on his website Nels mentions that he has a Jerry Jones baritone He uses it on "Caved-In Heart Blues" off of The Nels Cline Singers latest release "Draw Breath." It sounds fantastic.
jff
He uses it on "Caved-In Heart Blues" off of The Nels Cline Singers latest release "Draw Breath." It sounds fantastic. I'm pretty sure he also plays it on the first Singers album. It's on a really pretty ballad ("Slipped Away" is the song title if I remember correctly). They opened with it when they played in Atlanta, and Nels was using the baritone for that tune.
