New Tour Dates

Recommended Posts

Toolish, I just checked the Vooruit website, no trace of Wilco...yet.

Well, I registered to their mailing list, to the RSS feed and sent a message for more info :-)

(Hope they'll not go on sale before a week or so, as I'll be away from Belgium for 8 days.)

Hey Samuel, I e-mailed them as well, and they confirmed me that tickets would go on sale by March 14th...

3 nights - they're not that popular over-here!!!

Well if not 3 london nights i'd say it'll be one other UK date, like last time they played london and nottingham... Still have a little hope for an irish date but i think it'll be 2 nights in Shep bush at least and a night off...

Germany :lol

Impossible :lol

Can you Europeans tell us about these venues? Big, small, club, theater, etc.?

Shepherd's Bush is quite a nice venue, old theatre. Saw Jeff solo there in 2005 (God is it really that long since I got me some Wilco :upset?!?) and found the acoustic to be really good as well.

The Live Music Hall in Cologne (where I saw Wilco in 2005....again....*rant* ) is a nightmare. The surroundings are horrible, so all you can do is basically get to the venue and get outta there as quickly as possible and back in to the wonderful city of Cologne :yes At least it is really small (probably 800-1000 people).

The Paradiso in Amsterdam I have never seen myself, but heard fairytales about how good it is, so it is probably worth checking out.

Can't say anything about the venues in Berlin & Hamburg, as I have never been to them, but all venues in Berlin and Hamburg I have been to have been good so far, so that might be a hint ;)

the Paradiso (with it being in Holland like... see Pulp Fiction... :P ) used to have a stall selling dope and ready made joints!! Not sure if it still does, but you're never far from a 'coffee shop' in the low lands...

The Paradiso is a lovely venue. I am just back from a week in Amsterdam and had a great time there. Great acoustics in there which isn't surprising as it is a former church. I think.

$82 in Australia currency...a lot?

its $64 US dollars and f32 UK pounds

when they last played in 2003, i forgot exactly how much but from memory the tickets were close to AUS$50.. it was a smaller venue and right next door to where they're playing now in melbourne. its more expensive than i would have thought for wilco, but average price for that venue

late in 2005 i payed $92 to see john fogerty at the same venue. both great artists but one's been around since the 60s and had one or 2 hit singles. most likely more a venue decision than a band one. either way, i'm seeing 3 shows this time :dancing

In my excitement I didn't realise its a Sunday. Thats a real problem for me. I might have to hold out for more dates later in the tour. Shit.

You might be in luck this time around. There's, I think, 3 days between Shepherds Bush and the next date in Cologne (?). They could fill the interim with more dates. Or sightseeing.

"Whadda ya mean there's no Berlin Wall??!"

Ha ha! You got that right. I hate that airline and not just because I am fat and have to squeeze into their seats! :blush

I would have considered it but I am just back from a week in Holland and also have a week each in France and Spain this year and more likely a Gooners game towards the Spring as well so that about covers me money-wise. Besides I am not a fan of big crowded gigs these days. I prefer a smaller venue and a smaller band. More intimate.

but the Shepherd's Bush Empire is one of the smallest, intimate gigs in London. Unless you're holding out for a 'living-room' show, you'll be lucky to get anywhere smaller..
