WilcoFan
June 21 @ Merriweather Post Pavillion. wonder when tickets are going on sale for this one! Very nice. -- I work like 3 minutes from Merriweather. That will be nice to go directly from Work -> Bar -> Show
LouisvilleGreg
Well the tickets should last a little longer than the typical 9:30 Club Wilco show.
Analogman
I saw them there in 2005. wilcobase I did not really see them though - I talked to Cal and watched them on the video screens. I was unfortunately on the lawn -

That will be nice to go directly from Work -> Bar -> Show I used to work like 3 minutes from Merriweather, but that was 20 years ago - These days it'd be Work -> Drive 13 Hours -> Bar -> Show
You Can Be The Stone
Yes! Maybe the Roots will open for them again! And Tweedy will make good banter about the people up on the lawns!
Hodie
Yeah, I'm sure the tickets will last longer than 930 ones do. And the Roots were one of the best Wilco openers ever. As a denizen of Washington, DC, I'd like to nitpickingly mention that they really shouldn't list it as a DC show. Columbia, Maryland is 35 miles away from here. So that means they should play 930, too.

I was unfortunately on the lawn - i saw Bob Dylan there several years ago, my seats might as well have been on the lawn. it's an ok venue, definitely not the 9:30club, now that's a good venue! i'm doing my best to move back to DC, but if i'm not living there by then, driving from the charlotte show to the "DC" (yes it technically is in MD) show and back again is an option. roadtrip! I don't really go to very many concerts - but I think I prefer the sound of outside shows. It was just weird - as I am usually in front of the stage. I got to see Dylan here where I live - I was on the floor - so it was a pretty good view.

heyjada
Agreed about Wolf Trap. My favorite DC area shed. The food and drink leniency makes for a nicer time.

The trick is to get in on the pre-sale early enough. I got front row last time at Merriweather and it was awesome. That was June 26th I think, two years ago. It was hot as an oven. c53x12
Meriweather in '05 was the only live Wilco show I've seen. The band sounded great. I was in the pavilion. I didn't like the venue all that much, though -- it was kind of like a dirty Six Flags park with really overpriced beer. But right now it looks like my closest option, so I might return. bsr8j
I still think Wilco should headline at least once at Wolf Trap. I completely agree. Wolf Trap is a great place to see an outdoor show. I've only been to Merriweather once and I was less than impressed.
WilcoFan
Does Wilco still do a password for musictoday presales? I haven't got an email update from them in a loooong time and I have even tried re-signing up with my new email address. Any help would be appreciated.
