There was an article in paste magazine a few months back that had a quote from Jeff saying that besides Los Angeles, he was really dissapointed with the audiences from the West Coast solo tour last year, and wasn't that thrilled about touring the west coast with Wilco because of it. If I remember correctly, he hinted that they might just do a few dates in Los Angeles and focus on other parts of the country that don't get Wilco nearly as often.

If this is true, they will be missed. As I recall, the Vancouver, Eugene, Arcata, and SF audiences were pretty well behaved on that solo tour, but I understand how a couple of bad nights might colour the whole experience. (Also, it's probably not a good idea to tour the Pacific Northwest during the rainy season.)

I have a feeling that he won't be able to resist the siren song of the SF Amoeba, City Lights, and Powell's for long. ;)

At least Glenn and Nels still love us. :P

My first Fillmore show!

I think that was the night I kept bumping my head on the monitor. Ouch, d'oh! And some of us suffered the indignity of pooping pigeons to get that close to the stage. Good times.

When I was practicing visualizations in my prenatal class to prepare for childbirth, the Fillmore was my "happy place." True story.

What am I doing in that picture? God only knows.

I think you were having a really good time. :beer

Rock and roll moms are the best! Too bad we never got you to the Great American Music Hall or Bimbo's 365...they'd both make for some great visualizations.

Does someone have the actual quote? I'm rather skeptical myself, seeing as how the Tweeedy Solo Tour DVD is exclusively based on West Coast dates. I can't imagine the others not being thrilled to play the Bay Area. (Does anyone know the origins of "On Fillmore" by the way?) And as others have said, Wilco has been really great about spreading shows around the Bay Area. As much as I love the Fillmore, I live in the East Bay, so their willingness to play the Greek and the Paramount is very much appreciated by this fan.

I think the guy you quoted was lying about the Paste article.

You mean I've been collecting signatures for my bring Wilco back to the west coast of North America petition for nothing? :o
