tongue-tied lightning
anyone been there ? I read the sound sux ??
Mrs. Peel
Oh my god, it's going to be next to impossible to get these tickets. Not that I won't try, mind you. This is the highly elusive club show I've been waiting for.
evil horn
seen lots of shows there. it's small. I've always been close to the front, so I'd say the sound is fine. I like it better than irving plaza. for one thing, the bar is separate from the music, so for a club show, that cuts down on the folks who go to shows and don't give a shit and want to talk. and plus, there's pierogis and kielbasa to be had. MattZ
Holy jesus. I just read the fine print and tickets either have to be bought in the presale online or in person at the Warsaw or Irving Plaza box office at 1pm on the 12th. No ticketmaster. Take that scalpers!! I will try to get through the presale online, but if i am unsuccessful (which I bet many will be) then I will waking up early on the 12th. Who's bringing the bagels? radiokills
when does the presale start?

jimmyjimmy
So what's the deal with this venue exactly? There's not a lot of info available at it's web page except that it's called "The Warsaw at the Polish National Home". What's it's capacity and is it near any other local sites of interest? I'm just looking for an excuse to hit NYC in June, so yeah.

I'm just looking for an excuse to hit NYC in June, so yeah. it's borderline williamsburg and greenpoint in brooklyn. go figure.you can walk for 5 minutes after the show or before the show to Bedford Avenue and chill around W-burg or take the L train on N7th Street to Manhattan easy.Warsaw is a fairly small venue compared to Hammerstein. It's as big as Irving Plaza, maybe slightly bigger. I haven't gone in over six years so I don't recall exactly.many great bands have played there over the years, from Modest Mouse to Godspeed You! Black Emperor to Yo La Tengo, etc.it's a intimate setting for a band like Wilco. i just hope their setlist will be long enough to soak in. venues in the city tend to cut things short sometimes. jhh4321
I think Hammerstein is around 3000 and Warsaw around 700.
