I recall reading some interview around the time it came out that the title was partly inspired by most of the boys having dentist appointments the summer of the year it was recorded. Anyone else remember that?

Yeah, I always thought it was (really!) but I'm surprised it doesn't come up at all, considering how often the title gets discussed.

I always thought it was because the songs were sunny (summer) but the lyrics stung (teeth).
