southern hotel foxtrot
I'm about to purchase the Wilco book. How is the 12 tracks that come with the Wilco book cd? Are they must haves? Any suprising gems?
HighFives
not really must haves depending on what you like could or couldn't be. It's mostly instrumental jams but they are a few really great tracks on dere.
jff
It's pretty good. High Fives is on the money. It's easy to break the cd when trying to remove it from the book, so be careful.

Uneven, but very interesting...and good, in my opinion. I think so...if you're a fan of everything else Wilco. Yes. My favorite is an alternate version of Hummingbird....and a few others are nearly as great.

southern hotel foxtrot
Are they all experimental instrumentals? Is Nels Cline in the lineup or is it the same lineup that recorded AGIB?

aricandover
Nels does not appear on this CD. Mike Jorgenson gives detailed liner notes on all the tracks, it's pretty cool. I think the CD is great and I'd love to see Wilco put more of this stuff out there.

Spawn's dad
great. totally worth obtaining. though there have been several threads about carefully removing the CD as they seem to have a tendency to crack.

adjason
Didn't like it but only listened to it about twice. This is what I would call "for hardcore fans only"
