cwnorman
So it looks like my first real show in Denver proper will be 2 nights of bliss at the filmore. Any Denverites have an opinion on the venue? Doesn't look like there is a pre-sale. Can't wait... PS...literally can't wait. Now it looks like I'm going to fly to see the Berkley show too! Not only that, but may go play Spyglass that morning! Lammycat
http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=29174 Some folks have been ragging on the Fillmore. I think for the size of place that Wilco could potentially play it's a great venue. I've seen many shows here and the sound is very good anywhere in the room. There is very limited seating (a few round bar tables on the railing off to the right with chairs and a balcony straight in the back opposite the stage). I like the fact that it's GA and you can wander around until you find a sweet spot. There are also two VIP areas elevated to the left of the stage that offer great views of the stage and of course are not as crowded (and have mini bars in them). They also serve food behind the stage throughout the show. I've seen Wilco here before and found it pleasant to be towards the back on the floor: not overcrowded, room to boogie, easy access to beer and bathrooms, and the sound was great. Red Rocks would have been nice just because it's outdoors and it's Red Rocks, but I don't think they're filling 10,000 seaters as headliners.
a.miller
2 nights in Denver, no nights in Salt Lake City
lost highway
I saw them at the Filmore and it was a life changing event. Then I saw them at Red Rocks and it was almost as good as a life changing event. I am glad to see them at the Filmore again. You can push your way to the front if you don't mind standing for two hours and get a really good view of the boys and the sound is totally perfect. Can't wait! truiz
The Filmore is a great place to see Wilco or any other music-- intimate and excellent sound. Very easy to get in front, too (if you are relatively early). I saw them at the Filmore for the AGIB tour and it was great. I saw the Raconteurs my last visit and enjoyed a great and LOUD show right up front. However, beer cost a small fortune. I'll be at both shows.
Jimmy Coulas
I have my plane ticket booked already. I am so pumped. I am only seeing one of the shows at the fillmore as I will be heading to Red Rocks on Sept. 2 to see Yonder Mountain String Band!
cwnorman
Sounds great. Thanks. Looking forward to catching them at the Fillmore. How is the parking. Lot of the venues on Colfax don't look to have much of it?
Alastor The Great
Argh, I don't think I can go because I'm 15. Is it a possibility with a parent, or still no?

Hodie
The Filmore is a great place to see Wilco or any other music-- intimate and excellent sound. I saw the show that was immediately after the 2004 elections, and it was a great night and a fine venue. I definitely couldn't call it intimate, though -- isn't the capacity 4000-ish? Lammycat
FWIW, in the local paper it was noted that Wilco wanted to play Red Rocks instead of The Fillmore but Red Rocks was booked.
awatt
Just curious why they are playing two nights in Denver?? It's a great city, in a beautiful setting, but seems unusual for this tour to be at same place for two nights.
oceanman
I'm in,got a place to stay but still need to get my flight! One of the 2 nights is going to be very special, not sure which one.
lessthanIthink
The two day pass is awesome. It comes out to $34 a ticket including service charges. Thank you. thank you. thank you. I've seen two shows there. It's enormous for a club. Think Aragon in Chicago for size comparison. The sound is really good. It's crystal clear from the very back! If you get in early there are some great places to stand, but they go fast. Good beer selection.
Alastor The Great
STILL don't know if I can go. :|
luke79
Do they give out posters at the Fillmore in Denver, like they do at the Fillmore in San Francisco? I saw the shows at Red Rocks in 2003, and would prefer Red Rocks as well, but oh well. Speaking of Denver though, any Denver-ans have any must do's to suggest? Thanks, Luke
