DogsPlayingPoker
Seriously, is that the dates we get for loving them? I just moved to Florida and I hate it here. I don't want to go on and on and on, but some Wilco shows down here would help me shake it off. I know I shouldn't complain. Just please be patient with me until they get some tour dates close to me. wilconut
Has anyone noticed that the venues for the current tour are much different than ever before? Granted, it's summer, which lends itself to bigger, outdoor gigs, which is cool, but what about the ye olde days of First Avenue, The Filmore in San Fran, Irving Plaza, Headliners in Louisville, and The Vic in Chicago. Don't get me wrong, I love that the band is running with their success and playing larger shows, but one of the things that attracted me to them in the first place was that they seemed to love playing smaller, more intimate spaces. Anyone else feel that? I mean, I would easily trade one show in Millennium Park for another two or three night stand at the Vic or Riv...just sayin'.

So Long
Sadly enough, I'd have to agree with Louie B...and rhyme whilst doing so.

mountain bed
wilconut...I think those days are over......long over..... LouieBYep. If the growth of the # of members on this board just since SBS was released is any indication. I've noticed an alarming amount of Wilco talk on teh Phish boards. Hmmm, let's see..Phish is dunzo, Trey is in a big legal mess, etc. Be prepared for a possible invasion!

It's puzzling to me that they only booked one Bay Area show.
suites
I've been doing the "complaining about wilco not playing in FLA" thing for like 5 years. For those that have been here since the beginning....know that I was the 1st fan from South Florida and was the one who always complained about Wilco not coming to Florida. I have to admit that they have usually made their way down here for most of the tours.....lets not break the string......come on down....we will take good care of you. radiokills
theyre talking on PHISH boards? my worst nightmare has come true
wilcohead
yeah Wilco is a massive thing on Phish message boards. Be prepared for the hippie invasion as the years go by. "veggie burritos 1 for $3 or 2 for $5" Get used to the above phrase.
Brundog
HAS ANYONE HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT A MINNEAPOLIS SHOW? Minneapolis used to get 2 or 3 shows per year. Those days are gone. That being said, it would be nice to get a show atleast once in a while. They've played Duluth and Winnipeg the past two summers, and we have not had a show in close to 3 years now. I would be suprised if we don't get something soon.
cmackey34
Having the stereotypical "Phish fan" at a Wilco show would be devastating. Not only do they talk all the time, they just like getting high and reveling in the fact that they "made it to the show"... completely annoying. I've been a Wilco fan for too long to allow this to happen. I'll have to bring my Phis stomping gear to the 9.12.07 show...

cmackey34
Sweeping generalizations? You're telling me you don't have an image or description of a typical Phish, or Dave Matthews or Rolling Stones or Cure or Slayer fans? These generalizations are, for sure, crass and somewhat offensive, but they wouldn't be generalizations (or stereotypes) without some sample of that populations absolutely fitting that mold. I'm all for people who enjoy different types of music - hell, my favorite band besides Wilco is The Cure and really I enjoy Dave Matthews... and having been to their shows there certainly is a "particular" type of fan. The "over-fanatic" that is really, truly insufferable. They talk too much, get too drunk or high, don't really "watch" the concert, etc. But whatever, anytime I go off on tangents I always end up putting my foot in my mouth. Back to work... Oranje Spur
I emailed some people in the know and found out that more dates will be announce in two weeks for shows in Oct. The Twin Cites is in that group. Whao! the ITK is not in the Wilco camp but works with them.
