I can't even imagine seeing them on stage together. "I"ll take Uncomfortable Weirdness for $1000, Alex."

I saw Son Volt this summer, and while some of their stuff from their last two albums (and Jay's Damn Shame-Memphis Mix) are great songs, the live show was rather gloomy.

Jay seems to take himself WAY too seriously to consider a reunion.

someday, the jeff vs. jay crap will stop.

someday

i personally love both. i mean, jeff's my favorite songwriter ever, but i think jay is incredible. loving his UT/Son Volt stuff. haven't heard his solo albums yet though.

I can't believe after reading the four pages of this thread it hasn't been suggested a reunion tour supporting the release of a new Uncle Tupelo recored.

Is that too far fetched?

If a Tupelo reunion did happen i think these two could come up with 12 or so songs for a new release. That would make it more attractive to me.

It would be fun to see what time passed has done to their song writing collaboration as well as their live play.

Jeff was asked about the possibility of a reunion in the April 2002 issue of Magnet, and he said he wouldn't be opposed to a one-off show. I had Jeff sign my Uncle Tupelo cd after the Denver shows, and he asked who had signed it before him. I said, "Uhm, Jay Farrar. He said "That's Jay's signature? It sure has changed since I saw it last." John said not to hold your breath on it ever transpiring.

I'd rather see Wilco and watch Jay Farrar in the audience, drinking away his "could have been" thoughts...

Why the animosity?

When they were together, I was definitely more in the "Jay" camp.

But I still do love them both.

Rick Astley has got to be the biggest twat of all time.

That sure is one sweet-ass dance (as opposed to "sweet ass-dance," of which I have no knowledge either way) he did.

I remember a very little of a standup routine some guy (no idea who anymore) did on Rick Astley. In fact, the only part I do remember is a snippet sung to the tune of "Never Gonna Give You Up" that goes "big black voice in the body of Howdy Doo-dy." I thought it was pretty apt then, and I think it's pretty apt now. You got a problem with that?
