Chris_H_2
Don't get bent out of shape, people. This isn't that odd, especially for Wilco, since they did it for the last two albums. Releasing an EP is not odd. But commercially releasing a single from it 6 months after the release of the LP is odd.
So Long
I was in my local record store yesterday and One True Vine/Theologians (live) were attached to Sky Blue Sky... could this be it?
DAngerer09
I think that one is the SBS version that was released to "Indie Music Stores" Plus, this new thing isn't supposed to be out til Nov. 12.

jcroach
Releasing an EP is not odd. But commercially releasing a single from it 6 months after the release of the LP is odd. OK, gotcha. But what does a "single" really mean anymore? Are they going to release a physical CD single to stores? Are radio stations bound to just play the "single" and not anything else from an album? "Single" means about as much to me as "b-side" anymore!
Gobias Industries
My guess: 1. The Thanks I Get2. Glad It's Over3. Let's Fight4. Let's Not Get Carried Away5. You Are My Face (live)6. Impossible Germany (live)7. Side With The Seeds (live)8. Red-Eyed and Blue > I Got You (live)9 Too Far Apart (live) LNGCA is on iTunes, so that won't be on there. I don't think Red-Eyed and Blue > I Got You and Too Far Apart would be on there, they're older songs, and it looks like they pick recent cuts to place onto the EPs. Analogman
OK, gotcha. But what does a "single" really mean anymore? Are they going to release a physical CD single to stores? Are radio stations bound to just play the "single" and not anything else from an album? "Single" means about as much to me as "b-side" anymore! Exactly. This is being released to get people to buy the album when they play more shows overseas.
ZenLunatic
I'm just going to steal this from Super Target. hahaha!! I dont like the idea of them releasing new stuff only with a previously released album. People who want new stuff are forced to buy album again, I dont think so. Hope its not that. Anyways I did get my SBS cd that I got from my Vinyl purchase stolen from me, so I was thinking of buying the dvd combo but may wait for this new set.
aricandover
if there's anything new on it, they'll make it available for download here in the U.S., just like they did with the More Like the Moon and AGIB EPs.

Are radio stations bound to just play the "single" and not anything else from an album? "Single" means about as much to me as "b-side" anymore! First, I'm old, and I miss the days of LPs, EPs, and 7" singles [cue in "Memories" to play in background]. Second, a single to me is a new song released for radio consumption from the most-recent LP/EP (sadly, most radio stations do stick to released "singles" from albums (XRT here in Chicago is one notable exception)). But if it's an EP (as in this case), usually it's not released a mere 6 months after the LP. And that's the part that I find a little strange about the deal -- the timing. Third, if they need a "single" to promote an LP, perhaps that "single" should have been on the LP to begin with. But hey, perhaps they were holding back to sell mor Volkswagons.
