ike67
Fox Theatre Sound Check I was able to collaborate on a poster design for the recent Milwaukee show and as a result was given tickets to the Detroit show. After a successful effort to have our poster signed, we were able to sit in on the sound check at the Fox Theatre on Wednesday afternoon. As a huge Wilco fan, this sho was unlike any other concert/music situation I have experienced. Other than sound men & ushers, my buddy Mock & I were 2 of 6 people listening to a 7 song "set" as the band dialed in their sound for the show that night (which by all accounts was amazing). The band acknowledged the sound check fans and were funny gracious and loose...All that & then Andrew Bird did his sound check....unbelieveavble, to be so close to all this wonderful music. I captured as much of the scene on video before my battery died. Here is a link to my recap & videos:http://thelonemicrophone.blogspot.com/2007...t-to-print.html A huge thank you to the band and the management for the opportunity....truly a once in a lifetime!! sgtpepper64
Best show I've ever seen in my life. A real treasure. I really hope they come back soon. I almost lost it when they busted out Pot Kettle Black. Then they played jesus etc with andrew bird and did lose it. Then it was completely gone when they played Casino Queen. Brilliant. What fantastic songs. What a fantastic band. What a sweet as show.

Thanks for the kind words...I didn't post to rub it in anyone's face...I just knew that true fans would appreciate the whole story. Wilco's Management treated us like kings...the whole thing was a dream.
jimmy bobby
I am the said roommate I guess, I got the show from here back when they hosted torrents here. I converted it to MP3, for space reasons. I'll make a torrent and put it up on demonoid, after this next class. This East Lansing show was my first one, and unfortunately the only live Wilco show I have on my computer. Here is the link If you can't download torrents PM me, and we'll come up with another way to send it. i'm sorry, but i can't download the torrent you posted. the site is not accepting registrations, etc.is there another way. sorry to be a bother. Wendy
Oh, you got Far Far Away in the soundcheck! I miss that song. Everytime I hear the opening notes of Sky Blue Sky my heart skips a beat because I think it's Far Far Away. Not that there's anything wrong with Sky Blue Sky of course -- it's just not Far Far Away. Cool poster! Thanks for the links to your blog.

jesselne
I will when you and others learn the protocol for live show sharing. I converted it to MP3, for space reasons. I am a poor college student, I don't have money for a new hard drive. And I'm getting close to filling up my hard drive. So I don't have room for six gigabytes for one concert on my hard drive. I wouldn't have put the torrent up if people did not ask for it.

And thank you so much.I'm not so tech savvy about this stuff. The easier it is for me, the better. The East Lansing show was one day after my b.day. The show was a b.day gift.Needless to say, I've really been wanting to find the show to have.So... thank you!

Weirdness
Everybody hold tight for the front of balcony recording from the Fox. There was something that didn't seem right, turns out that one channel on a newly modified piece of gear is not working as it should be. I'm in the process of trying to make the most out of what I have, it will be quite listnenable regardless but not as easy to deal with as I had hoped. Give me a day or so to figure it all out, I want to put the best version up that I can. Thanks for your patience...

cal
First the Declaration: I AM a Stander Dammnit!!!And the missus' Declaration: I'm a dancer, a good dancer!!! (w/ A.B.)Hate It HereHMDEncore 2:Red Eyed & Blue>I Got UCasino QueenOutta Site Outta MindWow!!!A great night was had by our group. Wilco played a stellar set that really seemed to zip past too quickly. The dragon's eggs at Union Street were great as always (and for a change the service was speedy and efficient). Parking was free and a breeze. We walked through the door at the Town Pump and there were two seats opening at the bar. I ran into some friends I hadn't seen in years. So a great night. We almost missed Wilco opening due to the control freak ushers. My first thought: When did Jeff get a Nudie suit?Followed by: What kind of shoes does one wear with a Nudie suit?Any answers to the second question would be apreciated.Highlights for me: Pot Kettle Black - a song I hum constantlySide with the Seeds - my fave from SBSShot in the Arm - AlwaysSpiders - the grin from Jeff at the crowd cheer from the first "on a private beach in Michigan". It was the kind of grin that said, "I knew they were gonna do that."Jesus Etc. w Andrew Bird - just beautifulthe second encore - nuff said. For the missus a big shout out goes to Phil who was kind enough to lend her his second row pit seat for the second encore. It capped off her night (week? month?). And probably amused John and Pat.Someone has been shopping at Mike Mills' garage sale
aricandover
Did you author the "protocol" for live show sharing? No. Oh... right. Yeah, it's called "sharing".Thanks though. tapers don't appreciate their shows being traded in lossy formats, such as MP3.
jimmy bobby
tapers don't appreciate their shows being traded in lossy formats, such as MP3. this is a debate i really don't care to be a part of... i'll just leave you with this... people such as myself who just want to listen to the concert attended really don't care if it's a mp3 format.you tech savvy audiophiles can listen to your loseless versions to your hearts content, but as for me, i'm as happy as the sky is blue with my mp3 version.cheers! Piss them off enough and the shows might not be out there anymore. Either get the shows from a BT site, or do a B&P with someone for the discs. Then once you have the show, convert it to MP3, or whatever you want. Just don't share it that way.
