Maggie
Recording doesn't sound too bad either. More info on that in the next week or two. I'd be interested in this. I had tons of fun at my first Wilco show last night. They definitely lived up to all my expectations! Can't wait to see them again some day.
toby
I was worried there wasn't a taper at the show. I looked around but didn't see any mics sticking up. Glad to hear it sounds good, can't wait to download it.Felt bad that Tweedy wasn't aware of Pittsbughs animosity towards Cleveland. He thought we were cheering for them! Hahah.Great show. lulu
I can't wait for the recording to become available. The show was just absolutely smokin right out of the gate. I was directly in front of Nels in the third row and just had the time of my life rockin my arse off to, IMHO, the best band in town- period. The setlist was just great- I had my wishlist going in, but have zero complaints on what I did not hear because they delivered the goods BIG TIME!! I started seeing Wilco in 94, and just am amazed how much more incredible they get with every show. I could have hung on every note- ah, the musical bliss that is Wilco Also, finally got to meet Jeff- got a pic and autograph and a couple of good laughs out of him as well Wish I could do VA as well today, but I have a feeling this post show glow will keep me happy until the next time. Can't our love for Wilco transcend the Cleveland/Pittsburgh thing? I'm from the Cleveland area I don't dislike Pittsburgh. Of course I am not a serious sports fan, so that could have something to do with it. Great show! Looking forward to hearing it, thanks for taping it Anodyne33!!Thanks to Jeff for taking the time to talk to all of us afterward, even though his sammich was waiting for him. He even took the time to sign two things for me (one for my usual traveling companion, my sister, who couldn't make it this time whaaa ) Does anyone know what the problem was about the dancing? Was security really preventing people from dancing? I was seriously hoping everyone would move the chairs out of the way and create a general area, but then I realized the chairs were all bolted together. That would have taken some serious organizing (and tools...)!

That would have taken some serious organizing (and tools...)! I could have sworn those people in the blue seats were trying to tell Jeff that it was their friend's birthday and he somehow got the whole dancing ordeal out of that. Or was he listening to some other people while those guys were waving their arms around? It seemed like Jeff had trouble understanding anything the crowd said. Of course, that just made it all the more entertaining! As much fun as I had, I really wish the people on the floor would have been a little less stiff. I was just bobbing my head and swaying to the music, yet I felt silly next to all the people standing perfectly still. I was expecting more dancing. I mean, "Walken" started and it was like there was no physical reaction, at least around me! At least everyone remained standing through the show.

Luckily there were pockets of us dancing our butts of though, I just focused on them peripherally and pretended we were all in a bunch (a banana bunch in fact). :banana
kissel me some more
[Does anyone know what the problem was about the dancing? Was security really preventing people from dancing? I was seriously hoping everyone would move the chairs out of the way and create a general area, but then I realized the chairs were all bolted together. That would have taken some serious organizing (and tools...)! That was actually my husband who was dancing. I did not see it (I was sitting with a friend because I much prefer the Pat side). My husband was sitting on the end of the row on the floor apparently getting down with his bad self. Security came up to him and told him to stop dancing. He questioned their rationalization. Folks sitting in the bleachers saw what was going on and started to chant "let him dance".
wilcogirl
Why wouldn't they let him dance? Was he really dancing that bad? Jeff's response was pretty funny, did it make any difference, was your husband able to continue dancing?

Honestly I've been to Cleveland numerous times and I kind of like it. It just always amuses me what football means to some fans in this town. I'm not even a huge football fan byself but I love how this town follows that team. Glad somebody knows what that dancing thing was about. I was on the floor just to the right of the dancer and I still couldn't figure out what the heck was going on. It was amusing though.

Really, I sort of float above it and am just intrigued by it! Its so funny. I went to see Jim Bianco in Cleveland a few weeks ago, and he had just come from Pittsburgh, and half of the 40 some people there booed when he mentioned Pittsburgh. In fact one guy yelled out "Cleveland hates Pittsburgh!" I could have said "Not all of us" but probably would have been thrown out! hahaha. It just amazes me, but in an amusing way. My cousin has always been a huge Steelers fan, so he's always hearing it from Browns fans around here.
aricandover
When I lived in Pittsburgh, we used to drive to Cleveland quite a bit for concerts. Bands tend to skip the "Burgh" for some reason. I have no problem with the place.

The seat wasn't bad. I had a perfect view of Nels at all times, and I could see Jeff and Glen perfectly most of the time (though I saw next to nothing of John and Pat). I just needed some more action around me! I can't believe someone actually got into trouble w/security for dancing - I'm glad to know those guys in the bleachers were trying to defend him! Hi my name is Lee
That day was probably one of the best days of my life. Wilco came to my campus, it was amazing. I ended up camping out 4 hours before the show in front of the Wilco van (anyone see me?), and I got to hang out a bit with all of the guys. They were all the coolest guys, really down to earth and didn't mind talking to fans at all. I was star struck to say the least...I'm going to shut up before I gush any more. Best Jeffism of the night: "Why are you guys sitting down, did you have a hard day? Oh wait...you're pregnant."
lukadiesel
I couldn't believe how tight the security was on the floor. I don't think I've ever been to a concert like it. At no point in the show was there an attempt to rush the stage. I had 6th row center & they were probably some of the best seats I've ever had. I could see everything perfectly. As much as I love being as close as possible, I was completely happy not having to be smashed into the person in front of me just to get a good view of the show. It was a great experience! Hundreds packed into the A.J. Palumbo Center at Duquesne University for a show that rivaled any other live music that the area could have offered. The mood was anxious, awaiting Chicago-based rock outfit Wilco to bring its genre-spanning compositions to the ears of those in attendance. Immediately noticeable, as it is with any Wilco show, was the varying demographics that came to see the show. Middle-aged men, thirty-something couples and packs of college-aged fans, came to see the band that has had its foothold on the indie culture since the mid-
