caliber66
So I updated my iPod last night, and aside from Bon Iver, I cannot for the life of me remember what the hell else was added during last night's sync. Despite the fact that I sat there and watched each file get added from iTunes. Any idea if there's a way to search by the date things were added? I'm sure there isn't, but I am frustrated. Not sure if there is a way to do it on the actual Ipod, but if you go into your I tunes and click on "view" (up on the tool bar) it will give you a list of options, click on the one called "view options" it will give you a box that contains many different boxes you can check. Click on "date added" then close. Your I tunes library page will then show the date you added whichever song. Note: This is for my version which is version
caliber66
I will check that out when I get home, and will write myself a note and pin it to my collar, so I don't forget again tomorrow! Thanks.
quarter23cd
My iPod came with a "Recently Added" playlist that pops up anything I've added within the last couple weeks.
caliber66
That's the one. Thanks!
ponch1028
you can also add "date added" to your menu and when you click on it, it'll put all of your music in the order of the date added.
Spawn's dad
right click on the line of menu items at the top of the song list, and scroll down for date added.
Atticus
hey caliber, I think you can sort by date added. hopefully someone will post about how to do it

El Picador
I have a question. I just got an 80 gig Ipod and have it loaded up about half way with a bunch of my favorite albums. I like that they are all complete. I want to add some playlists provided by VCers in the top 10 songs thread without disrupting the completeness of the albums. I don't want one song showing up as representing an entire album when I use the 'albums' function. Is this possible?
Lammycat
As it seems as if caliber's question has been added, and if he doesn't mind, I've got a simple question to pose that I've posed before: My iPod is showing no tunes/songs/etc. but shows almost all GBs used up. This happened a few weeks ago and I forget (rwkgb, maybe?) who helped and their advice but it worked. Thanks.

Those might not show up in the "songs" category, but can eat up a lot of space if you have a bunch of them. My iPod flipped out on me about a month ago...I thought it was headed for the scrap heap. I've been flirting with full-capacity on my 60GB for a while and I've instituted something like a "one-album-in, one-album-out" policy to deal with it. But then I also recently accumulated enough podcasts that I got within a couple GB of 60 and my iPod started locking up and crashing all the time. I guess it needs the buffer space. That has nothing to do with your problem, necessarily, but if you're getting close to full-capacity, you may start noticing similar behavior.

I've got the 80 GB but don't use anything but the music on it. Fixing (re-loading) the tunes show they show and can be displayed required ejecting the iPod a few times, I think. Just looking for the cure, man.
Atticus
lammy, have you tried wiping out the ipod and re-syncing with itunes?
Lammycat
lammy, have you tried wiping out the ipod and re-syncing with itunes? Not yet. That's kind of the last option I want to try. One problem is that I recently switched Macs. My wife took her computer when she moved out with all my iTunes on it. I haven't gotten around to switching the old library from hers to mine yet. I plugged in last night to transfer about 200 tunes or so I've downloaded onto my new computer. t asked if I wanted to switch libraries from the old one to the new one and I declined. Then, the iPod stopped displaying the songs (about 12.000 or so). However, this same thing happened a few weeks ago and the cure was fairly simple, I'm just spacing what it was.... Is this possible? When I add something like that, I change the album title for that whole playlist to the name of the playlist. That way the playlist all plays together when you're on album shuffle. PigSooie
Don't you have to reformat the iPod if you are going from mac to PC?
a.miller
Don't you have to reformat the iPod if you are going from mac to PC?If it is PC formatted, it will work on PC and Mac. If it is Mac formatted, it will only work on Mac....so....yes.
