At long last....Jason is toast...

LouieB

Jason is definitely toast.. Bob was rolling over in his grave last night. He butchered that song.

If Castro comes back for next week it's rigged.

Dudes, put down the haterade. I'd rather listen to Jason sing than any of the other contestants. He probably WILL get sent home tonight, but the beauty is he doesn't give a shit. :music

I absolutely hated David Cook's version of Baba. He is supposed to be a "rocker" and he pussified that song beyond all recognition. The slowed down start took away one of the best parts of the original. Even worse, his soft phrasing throughout the song ("teenage waste-lahnd") was very emo and had no grit to it whatsoever.

Even though I knew he would fit right into the crap rock mode when the show is over and that I would never listen to his music, I was still rooting for him within the context of the show. However, pissing on Baba like that threw everything that I hate about his brand of music right in my face and now I have no one left to root for. I do like Syesha, but not necessarily as a music artist. I hope this springs her into acting because she seems talented and I like her personality.

Listen lady, EVERY song the kid sings sounds the same. Every song. There's no way the kid would have lasted this long if it were a radio show.

Was there a theme last night? I tuned in when Cowell told the little hippy boy to pack his suitcase, at that point the show was almost over. I could not detect a theme based on the end-of-show recap.

I liked a few weeks ago when Randy told Jason he sounded like he was singing at a luau, and Simon asked "what's a luau?"

Yeah, I find Jason to be pleasant and inoffensive, and I like that he's pretty and also that he appears to totally not give a shit about the whole deal. So I'm still rooting for him! :monkey

The fact that he doesn't give a shit is certainly his most endearing quality.

That, or the fact that he's the only one that's smoked a J before taking the stage.

He's been caught on camera yawning, at least twice, during what have to be very tense moments for these people. So yeah, I'm guessing he's pretty relaxed most of the time. :yes

I don't know.. You would think that someone who's getting the chance of a lifetime to perform for the world and pretty much guarantee a career in music would give a shit.. Or atleast act like he does.

Indeed he never would have made it this far if it were a radio show. But I guess that's the sad reality.. It's 20% musical talent, 80% looks..

Totally agree with all of this. As I was saying Cook was supposed to be the rocker but he had no clue what to do with one of the great rock songs of all time. Pathetic. Meanwhile Syesha is stunningly beautiful and has a great set of pipes. She will go somewhere even if munchkin Archuleta beats her out.

We were discussing this with the kids before the results show last night. When it gets to the final, and they have to sing this year's version of This is My Now or whatever the hell the "songwriting" contest winner was last year, they're going to want David A and Syesha in the Top 2. Even Blake knew he was sunk going up against Jordin on the big diva song last year. David Cook could probably pull it off, but we were having a good laugh imaging Jason trying to sing whatever sappy ballad they're going to be expected to sing for the final. That, and the fact that even he knew he wouldn't have been able to make it through three songs next week makes me feel that yeah, it was time for him to go. :lol

Not really THAT high...it does have ALOT of words and Jason is kind of young and probably hasn't sung along with it for decades.

Dude's a stoner, he should know the words to Tambourine Man. Also, I think he screwed up the "in the jingle jangle morning" line, which is by no means the hard part of that song.
