Who's Taping at Chicago Shows?

Recommended Posts

I've usually seen a disclaimer of sorts posted on the doors to the venue when an event is being videotaped. Something like, "if you enter this building for the concert, you agree that your image might get used in a video, and you're okay with this." Or something more legal sounding. :blush So we should know before we enter.

I was more asking about the general taping policy, more than the Burn to Shine folks.

While some nice pro-taped dvd stuff is nice, who knows if that will ever be released, and if it will be the complete show. If I tape it, it will definitely be shared. I guess I'll find out soon enough if they'll let me in--it's just nice to know ahead of time.

Is this the wrong place to ask if cameras are usually ok at this place? I had to beg at the auditorium theatre for my expensive camera not to get thrown out.... it was very scary and ended up tossing the batteries to call it even. But I dont want to bother bringing one if it's gonna get "tossed" before I make it in

I'll be taping all 5 nights.

I've never had a problem bringing a camera into the Riv, but I haven't seen a show there in a while. You can call them before to make sure.

God bless, man. I am so jonesing for these shows, all of them. Good vibes to the band, to you and to all lucky enough to be there and to all of us lucky to hear their music through the work you do. 3/8/8 can't get here fast enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there were several tapers there...my tape (all three hours!) sounds nice...fortunately, we were able to set up a little closer than the usual taper section...only issue is the all the screaming!

Yep, I saw a bunch of tapers there, so hopefully it turns out.

Cameras are kosher unless deemed "professional" cameras, but anything point and shoot seemed to make it in ok.

I have a question....I know there were taping rigs there, but why was the management being so harsh about "professional cameras"? I would think that the actual music would be worth a whole ton more on the open market than some pictures....

I find this interesting also - I wonder if it has to do with some professional selling photos to magazines or websites? Although, I suppose someone could also take high quality photos and sell them via the web or some such thing. I think they have a no "videotaping" (or should we say digital taping now) - so maybe the photo deal falls into that category. It use to be that Wilco video stuff got yanked off of Youtube pretty quick - that does not seem to happen now - I think.
