trevor
if i get to see REM, Modest Mouse, The National, and Destroyer all in a 10-day span, my head will probably explode. I can't wait.
solace
hoping this touring lineup is a lot better than the one he had for Rubies in '
lizish
^ with Andre Ethier You are soo f'ing lucky. I don't know if he's touring with most of the Deadly Snakes, but if he is, well, you are so f'ing, f'ing lucky.
solace
the last time i saw him was with members of Frog Eyes and it wasn't that good... certainly not as great as the other 2x i'd seen him. it didn't help that William Elliott Whitmore & Magnolia Electric Co. opened and mopped the floor before he even had a chance
bböp
^ with Andre Ethier Doesn't he play for the Dodgers?
lizish
Doesn't he play for the Dodgers? Mr Bop, go search youtube for 'Andre Ethier O Canada'. Andre the Deadly Snake sang the national anthem as Andre the outfielder looked on from the dugout.
tangara
I'll be at the Chicago date, anyone else?

Serak_the_Preparer
SWEET!! I personally thought he played way better than MEC last tour, but maybe that's because MEC was so loud that my ears bled.

Andre the Deadly Snake sang the national anthem as Andre the outfielder looked on from the dugout. The ol' YouTube isn't fully functioning for me right now, T, but I think I get the picture. Hilarious! I also love how most of the comments are about the relative hotness of both the singer and outfielder. Double hilarious!
trevor
speaking of which, what do people think of the new album? wasn't entirely sold at first, but it's grown on me a fair bit since then.
solace
speaking of which, what do people think of the new album? wasn't entirely sold at first, but it's grown on me a fair bit since then. i like it quite a bit, but it does remind me of Rubies a lot in spots, whereas his previous albums, for better or worse, never sounded like the one before it for the most part. he also relies on the "la la la la" and "la di da" melodies more than usual.... so yeah, i dig it, but other than a couple tracks, doesn't blow me away on the whole. production and soundwise though it's phenomenal, prolly his best yet. trevor
he also relies on the "la la la la" and "la di da" melodies more than usual.... really? i was much more aware of those on "Rubies" than I was on this one. It seems like the chorus of every song on "Rubies" was da da da. Maybe they're just better incorporated this time around...and yes, it isn't a huge 180 from the previous record, but as long as the quality of songs is still there, I'm not going to complain about it not being radically different. solace
maybe there was as much on Rubies too... just stood out more than usual for me on here.
