bböp
I feel sorry for Of Montreal and a couple of others on that list. Yeesh! Where is this happening? (So I can avoid it.)
Jimmy Coulas
What are you talking about there are some very good bands on this list.
bböp
A handful, sure. I was mainly referring to the top of the list - Dave Matthews Band, Widespread Panic, John Mayer, 311, Phil Lesh and Friends, Primus - that isn't my cup of tea.
aricandover
John Mayer was awesome, on last night's, "Tim and Eric Nite Live"
Stewsday
I actually like this bill. It's balanced. The true test is when the schedule is let out.Maybe there won't be any scheduling conflicts for ya.Anyway, Rothbury is ~ 3-4 hours away from here. It's an hour and a half north of Kalamazoo / Grand Rapids area.~G. jesselne
I'm actually pretty excited about this. Since Bonnaroo's headliners are... well... lackluster. I'm not sure how the atmosphere is going to be with metallica fans. Metal, metallica, death and destruction are not my cup of tea, nor did I think it was bonnaroo's. Rothbury is far closer to home , and the surrounding area is really, really nice. Sliver lake has some of the best dunes I have ever been to, and Oceana County is one of the most beautiful in the lower peninsula. The lineup isn't amazing especially for $245 ticket prices, but it's better than anything else around here besides lolla(which doesn't really have the camping experience). Rothbury is definitely an option for me right now.
aricandover
, Phil Lesh and Friends, Primus - that isn't my cup of tea. nothing wrong with these two, and depending on what Mayer decides to play, he aint all bad either.
Analogman
I'm actually pretty excited about this. Since Bonnaroo's headliners are... well... lackluster. I'm not sure how the atmosphere is going to be with metallica fans. Metal, metallica, death and destruction are not my cup of tea, nor did I think it was bonnaroo's. I am sure making money is one of the goals of the backers of the festival. Maybe the indie hipsters and the metalheads can have a fight to the death.
myboyblue
I wonder if there will be any pot there.
Szabo
The Headliners don't do it for me, except for Modest Mouse and Primus. The rest of the festival looks pretty good though. It's only a few short hours from Chicago and it's been 2 years since I've hit up a camping festival, I may just do it for the kicks.
quarter23cd
I feel sorry for Of Montreal and a couple of others on that list. Yeesh! Where is this happening? (So I can avoid it.)Well, most festivals start out as primarily jamband things. Face it, that's your core festival audience. There are some very good bands in there. Granted, Dave Matthews and John Mayer at the top of the list don't do much for me, but there is plenty of good music in that list.
Lammycat
The tickets are starting at $245? That's ludicrous.
quarter23cd
The tickets are starting at $245?That's ludicrous.Agreed, that's kind of a lot. I like the idea of festivals--its neat to see a lineup with a bunch of bands I'd like to see, but I don't have the time or the money to commit to a multi-day thing for hundreds of dollars per ticket, so I'll probably never go to one of these.
