Dentoncitylimits
Do you guys think that they will play a lot of the songs that we rarely hear on the upcoming tour? We know that they can at least play them because of the residency...So what do you think?
dazzler
I'll let you know Friday night.
Guest David Puddy
judging by how nutty the crowd gets hearing some of the older gems, i'd be very surprised if they don't throw some into the mix on this tour. but i would assume it'd be SBS/AGIB/YHF heavy. plus new stuff. moxiebean
With John Doe opening a couple of the shows, I wouldn't mind hearing an X cover or two (I'd love to see Nels imitate Billy Zoom's studied nonchalance and maniac grinning).
Scalzunfield
I'd say you may get a few thrown in, but for a lot of the very rare tracks, it seems like they're almost just going through the motions. I'd say, sadly, expect 95% what you've seen from sets the past few years with maybe a few select tracks rotated in and out.
Dentoncitylimits
Man thats kind of lame, but understandable. I hate going to wilco shows now and hearing maybe 5 songs total from A.M. and being there. And by hate i mean love, but sad in that i dont get to hear my favorite songs. Scalzunfield
To be fair, they have seemed quite enthused with a bunch of the older tunes. Opening with "Blue-Eyed Soul" last night was amazing and I wish they'd bust that out more often. But I don't feel like you'll be hearing "That's Not The Issue" or even "Can't Stand It" after this run.
So Long
call me optamistic, but I'm kinda hoping we'll get some more "rarities", the same ol' sets of the last few years is getting a bit dull, not dull...but...dull.
H.Stone
I"d be optimistic for them to mix things up a bit after this. I wouldn't expect My Darling or Dash 7 or whatnot, but I think they may discover some new favorite to play. And by "I think" I mean "I really have no idea."
evil horn
I don't think they've set their website up to take requests for nothing.
Uncle Saul
im going to 3 shows, in a week (philly/2 in DC) so i cant imagine that they wont play some oldies, otherwise all three shows would be the same. i dont think wilco would do that to us.
Scott Gyrrr
When they come to New Zealand one of the shows is is at a 'bluesfest' with people like Buddy Guy, Keb Mo etc... Do you think they would tailor their set for the occasion? I wasn't planing on going to this one (got tix for the Auckland gig tho) but I think It would be cool to here them play up that aspect of the band. What do you think they would play if they did? froggie
James Alley Blues
mountain bed
James Alley Blues I'm still holding out for a revival of that one my friend. On a serious note though - I really hope that what has transpired this last few days is a new beginning for this band and their fans. It wasn't long ago when there were discussions about setlists and how they could change the Wilco experience into something truly spectacular. Not that they weren't amazing beforehand but the uncertainty of what MIGHT be played goes a long way to bringing fans back again and again. It really seems like a win/win all the way around to me.
