ppizzle
I went to the second night, and was pleased with the show, but looking at all the repeated songs from all 3 nights, I would feel a bit short changed. I know that they don't vary setlists much, but seemed a bit too standard for a 'hometown' run... thoughts ?
poppydawn
Not even a little. I will admit that I'm a bit tired of hearing some of the SBS stuff, since there are some songs I've heard at the six shows I've seen since September. That's just the talk of a spoiled brat, though. I was just fine with the repeats. Listen to "Misundstood" live three nights in a row? Hell yeah!
indy81
Actually, it seems like they barely played much from SBS at all...none of the lesser played tracks like "What Light", "Shake It Off, "Sky Blue Sky", "Either Way", "Thanks I Get", much less "Please Be Patient" or "Leave Me." Maybe the band is tired of that album already. But otherwise it looks like there was a decent amount of variation from night to night, with some rare songs - I don't think people should've expected a repeat of the Chicago residency. VenusStopsTrain2
I didn't mind the repeats. I know several of them by sound but not the actual words so I was learning a lot while we went along. It was a great time and my request was played on Saturday and that was exciting Plus i got my wish from Friday night of getting to see the Nudie suit..when he wore it on Saturday night! YAY for Nudie!
Three dollars and 63 cents
Every night had a much different vibe, I think, with each show getting stronger. I definitely didn't get tired of the repeats. They mixed the set list up each night enough that it was never predictable. I was thrilled they played Misunderstood all three nights, and I was glad to hear You Are My Face and Hate It Here every night. Even though Walken isn't one of my favorites, it's so much fun live. I was surprised they didn't play more of SBS Thursday, since that was the one-year anniversary of its release.
Doug C
Disappointed? Not in the least. The songs that were played all 3 nights were, with the exception of "Misunderstood" AND "Casino Queen" - 3 nights in a row! Hell yeah!- , songs that you'd expect them to play every night because the people that only attend 1 show want/deserve to hear. The 3 nighters were also excellent songs that no fan in their right mind would mind hearing every night. The setlists were excellent and well varied. No complaints from me and my wife about anything and certainly not the song choices. 3 nights of bliss. Thanks, guys! St. Louis is a fine city. We'll be back.

MattZ
Was there some significance to the band playing Misunderstood all three nights? I seem to remember there was a bit of criticism directed at the band not playing STL enough. Wasn't there some preposterous open letter to the band in a newspaper? I posted that stupid letter from the Riverfront Times several months ago. I didn't think about 3 Misunderstoods meaning anything. Who knows?
thisyearsgirl
the shows were fantastic...the band was on, and the setlists were perfect. there's nothing like closing out a tour with lots of great, high-energy songs to leave your fans hungry for more! i will DEFINITELY be back the next time they are in SL. it's a great town, a nice venue (though less smoke would be nice), and a great setting to see wilco play. (and this is coming from a chicagoan who is spoiled by shows like the residency!)
MrBnB
Not even a tiny little bit disappointed with the shows, repeats or not. Met some awesome folks, had a great time before and after the shows, and 2+ hours each night of a show that is so enjoyable that you're suprised when it's done. I requested "Misunderstood" for the first night because I'm a smart ass and thought it's be a great way for Jeff to come home. That, and I love the song. Of course, I have been listening to the first night of the Residency while I walk around pretending to not be bored, so that's helped.
