confoosious
Man that show was fun as hell. You can't beat a venue that charges $4 for mixed drinks and $1 for bottled water. That's like finding money on the floor. Thought you guys might appreciate a review and some photos: http://blog.favorite10.com/2008/08/11/wilc...ngton-de-81008/
fatheadfred
Very true. That bar back was pushing 80, and that woman was generous with the whiskey. Nothin better than getting sauced with old timers. They were prolly hittin it too.

confoosious
did anyone notice the two old ladies seated like row G on the floor? I think they were like season ticket holders to the grand and figured, why the hell not? coolest grandmas in delaware.

PearlJamNoCode
Sorry, it paid for parking. I'll buy you a beer and 2 bottles of water next time they play the Grand.
blue_94_trooper
Did you have to drive around a while to find a place that would make you pay to park? There were spots all over the streets within a block or two of the Grand. Always are.

confoosious
It's true. I love Wilco (prob my second favorite band) but they aren't "cool"... which is kind of a good thing.

Dean Moriarty
Oh man that show was sweet. The venue and the relaxed security was awesome. You could stand around anywhere. I think after the first few songs anyone could have walked right into that concert. They weren't even checking to see if people coming back from the bathroom/bar area had tickets. I'd say that "Wishful Thinking" was the highlight for me. The first half seemed a lot more out there than when I've seen them before. Alot of like sonic/noise/space....which was awesome. Any word on a taper recording?
Three dollars and 63 cents
I had a hellish drive down there--it was supposed to take four hours and took five and a half because of the weather. My car got all dinged up from hail. That part sucked, but the show was definitely worth it. They were loose and relaxed, and it was sort of fun seeing them screw up. Jeff got distracted during Radio Cure because people started clapping. I was glad I was on the "cool" side, where people were standing and having a good time. The crowd down front had a good vibe--nobody seemed pushy, and people were able to move down front without blocking anyone's view or causing enough of a ruckus to bring the 90-year-old security woman over. I was off to the far right, which gave me the chance to get some great pictures of the whole band, but I only saw Pat when he was playing guitar and didn't get to see the Total Pros at all The rain followed me all the way to Massachusetts today, but hopefully things will clear up for tomorrow! I'll post my pictures once I get them uploaded when I get home.
UrbanAchiever
Anyone still got a touch of that "kick ass show-hangover"? My ears stopped ringing around noon, but I still got that fuzzy, not quite with it kind of feeling. I love that feeling...

My ears stopped ringing around noon, but I still got that fuzzy, not quite with it kind of feeling. I love that feeling... i'm still euphoric from it,..they are just the greatest, i love this band. the venue and the vibe of it all made it all the better. having my son with me to experience it (his 3rd wilco show) made it even more special. and meeting jeff for the 2nd time was the icing . he seemed happy and he looked great,... he was so cute in his hat! he even smiled a tiny bit in the picture i had taken with him, thanks to the nice man who took it. My friend commented on the hat too, it was cool. I said "I could never pull that off", and he got a kick out of that. He was very friendly and gracious. As we walked away we were laughing like school girls, and believe me, Im not the type to get starstruck lol.
