solace
i figured there was no way in HELL this would come to Minneapolis, since both bands have been here twice this year already, but 2 nights at First Ave???? holy shit.
Guest Jules
I can't believe they're playing the friggin Blue Bird in Bloomington.
Mrs. Peel
Can someone help pick me up off the floor?
explodo
Too bad I can't stand DBT. I know I'm in the minority on that, so I will say that the Hold Steady does an amazing job of picking tour partners, however that all works. Art Brut/Hold Steady was dynamite. mjpuczko
art brut was ok for two songs then i was thoroughly bored with them.

myboyblue
I just quit my job so that I can follow this tour! (NOTE: not really but hope to catch at least one day. looking at MN!)
bobbob1313
Might have to cancel my trip to see Weezer in Georgia the week before, though..
tangara
I'll be at the Nashville and Chicago shows.
lizish
aren't the fan bases of these 2 groups a 'no items in common' set? well, besides alcohol.
bobbob1313
I like both.
solace
aren't the fan bases of these 2 groups a 'no items in common' set? not at all actually... lotta crossover
lizish
Guess it is just me and Daniel then.
bobbob1313
I would say there should, logically, be lots of crossover. They are two of the few bands that are just legitimate, good, old fashioned rock and roll.
lizish
I dunno. I see one of those as a half step up the food chain from Kid Rock and the other as a good band. But hey, that is just me (and Daniel)
myboyblue
Yes, love 'em both. I see a great deal in common from both the musical and lyrical content. THS may be a bit more singularly focused but they both have a heavy focus on lyrical content. They are both mutual admirers of one another as well.
bobbob1313
I mean, you probably aren't wrong, but you probably aren't right either. They aren't far removed from a lot of "southern rock" in style, they are just really fucking good at it. And we could play that game with the Hold Steady with similar results. tangara
Oh, I assumed the Hold Steady were the ones that were meant to be a step up from Kid Rock? Big "huh" either way. They're both great bands with an incredibly enthusiastic, sweaty, straightforward rockin' live show.
