cre618
Thought it was time for a bump. So happy to have this one for the drive in today. There is something about his voice that puts me in a good mood. Simple as that. Still love "Seven Mile Island," but also enjoying "Good" and "Soldiers Get Strange." Those last two should rock live. Here is 20 questions with Jason:20 questions Jack
quarter23cd
Ok, Peel, you hooked me. How has he not hired you as his manager/publicist yet? This is a darn good record. (No Choice In the Matter is my personal favorite after once through) Now you just have to tell me where the hell this place is and maybe I'll check him out live:Fri-Mar-06 Columbus, OH The Rumba Caf
Mrs. Peel
I'd be happy to be his personal publicist. Look into that for me, wouldja?

tangara
Interesting interview...thanks for posting! Somehow I can't see him in Burberry. I'm not sure what to think of the record yet, but I like the metronome on "The Blue", and love the horns on "No Choice in the Matter".

solace
i'd say it's up there too, but gonna take quite a while before i connect to it like i did w/ Sirens wish there was something like Razor Town or The Magician on here somewhat...
Guest Hollinger.
it is fucking awesome and everything I had hoped Sirens would be.

TheMaker
I'm with Hollinger. There's stuff on here that's as good as anything Isbell has ever recorded, if not better. Sunstroke is an exceptionally gorgeous song, the first track is catchy as anything, and No Choice in the Matter may have already upset Danko/Manuel for me as the guy's best song. That's just some serious fucking Dan Penn/Spooner Oldham/Bobby Charles country-soul right there. Authentic as hell, and his singing is spine tingling. Defintely the best song of '09 to date for me (and there's been a doozy or ten already).
Moss
Yay, coming to Denver the day after Springsteen! I'll skip springsteen for this one actually. Especially since it's at the Bluebird.
