General Soda thoughts...

Anytime we discuss something that is undeniably awesome on this board (Like coke or Jessica Simpson's boobs), there is always someone who will come on and ruin it with their naysaying.

I go old school and just drink plain old coke.

I used to drink Diet Coke by the 1 liter but I had an unfortunate incident. I used to love the taste of Diet Coke, but I was trying to gain weight to play football. At the time I was about 5'10" and weighed roughly 120 lbs. (One a side note, go into a McDonalds, order 3 Big Macs, a supersized fry, 3 apple pies, and then when they ask you what to drink, tell them a DIET Coke. The looks you get are priceless.) Anyway trying to pack on the pounds, me and my 120lb. frame decided that it would be a great idea to eat a medium deep dish pizza with everything, and I do mean everything, on it. and wash it down with a 1 liter of diet Coke.

Needless to say, it was not a good experience afterward. Without getting too graphic, I managed to make into the bathroom but not to the proper equipment in said bathroom. You would be surprised how quickly a bathroom sink will clog up and also how ineffective Liquid Plumber can be in the aftermath.

Every since I haven't been able to drink any diet pop at all.

Thinking outloud here, but I imagine there is not one person on this earth whose favorite soda is Sierra Mist

I enjoy Sierra Mist and Sprite and most things lemon-lime.

I saw someone mentioned orange crush. Kudos! Though orange after so many delicious variations I tend to pop tops with the Grape crush variety.

Also, has anyone tried Boyland's? It's Great. I always get the Black Cherry but it's all in bottles and each variety uses pure cane sugar. There's grape, black cherry, cola, orange, orange creme, root beer, birch beer, ginger ale

And I agree that ginger ale is underrated. I never think to get it, but whenever it's around I say "Hey it's been a while, you're not half bad. I'll get you sometime I swear."

My dad kept giving me moxie when I was little. It is good as an experience. I think anybody that hasn't had it before would hate it. It's like a nostalgia thing. It still tastes like cough syrup to me (and not that newfangled kid friendly hyper dxm crap....mmmm) but you know what I mean. I still smile when I see it. Sometimes I get it. And make others drink it.

Anybody tried Cherry Moxie? I've only seen it once. If I saw it again I would stock up. It does evoke a dr. pepper-esque taste. What with the fact that maybe dr. pepper is cherry pop with the secret ingredient of cough syrup. Flaming Moe anyone?

My #1: Diet Coke (sweet, sweet love)

best out of a fountain with ice through a straw (I haven't been to McDonald's in years so I can't recall if I ever thought it was better than other places). next best in a COLD can, then glass bottle and then plastic at the bottom (ewwwwww.. I hate plastic bottles to pieces).

Coke Zero is nice to have every once in a while and real coke every once in a great while (usually at a party with 2 liters and plastic cups or something).

I am also fond of Diet Dr Pepper but rarely drink it.

Two other great sodas I never drink:

Ruby Red Squirt (or regular Squirt)
