Moss
she sounds a little like Fiona Apple at times to me. I was thinking PJ Harvey but you are right, Fiona Apple is closer.
virtualreason
Finally listened to this in its entirety today. I'm really, really liking it. Isn't it a Lovely Night shouldn't have any vocals. Becky and Shara's voices play off of each other very well, as they are the two prominent female vocals on the album. You have the incredible power/presence of Shara foiled with the waifish beauty of Becky. Whereas some people are saying the beginning is weak, I think the first three songs (Prelude excluded) are my favorites. And the music--my god the music! There are riffs a-plenty here! I really think this will be the only thing playing on my iPod for the next few days. My only concern with this album is the live performance. I listened to the NPR SXSW webcast a few weeks ago, and I was really unimpressed. Somehow I knew (or hoped) that the studio album would sound a lot better (and I was right). Unless Shara and Becky come along for the tour, because I believe they are going to play the entire HoL catalogue (I mean, they have to really), the shows are going to be lacking A LOT. Shara and Becky are both on the tour. From interviews with Colin, they are playing HOL in its entirety during the first set of the show, with other songs from their catalogue thrown in during the second half. I loved the live performance on SXSW, and was shocked that they pulled it off and sounded so good doing it. I can't believe that they don't have Chicago on their iternary though. With the exception of Lovely Night and HOL No. 3, I love this album.

Chris_H_2
Lollapalooza. Once again, I HATE festival shows. Same reason I'm pissed that the National can't play a proper show here either.
