No way in hell I would ever do this. I did ride the Big Shot on top of the Stratosphere in Vegas, which was a momentarilly lapse of reason, judgement and sanity.

I did that too! It was the only time in my life I ever even considered backing out of an amusement-park ride. I love roller coasters, have no fear of heights, etc., but that one almost did me in.

I wonder if people stand on the floor below looking up dresses all day.

Yeah, I'd take my vacation pics from the floor below.

Yeah, it was quite the adrenaline rush once the ride started. Was this ride open when you were there? :throwup

That literally looks like a torture device to me. Threaten me with a seat on that, and I will fuckin' talk.

NO! That little roller coaster was there, but it was closed for repairs the day I went. Yes, please make sure that thing is in 100% working order, please. No derailments at 1000 feet!

I think I'd go on that thing, but mostly just as a test of my will. I'm stubborn enough to go through with anything once, just to say I did it.

i have no fear of heights but i do have a fear of mechanical equipment failing. no way would i trust these "rides" that hang off a building. shit breaks.

Combine that rationale with a fear of heights and welcome to my world.

When we (and our cousins) were kids, the moms wouldn't let us go on the rides at those temporary fairs that set up in mall parking lots, etc., because they felt that those things were put up in too much of a hurry, and the screws probably weren't fully tightened.

Also, all long hair had to be braided and tied up for any kind of ride, temporary or permanent.

For a minute I thought this sentence was referring to the carnies.
