HighFives
I really think Eminem is a bit more passionate about his music than doing it for the money. Even at all. He was rapping and doing shit before he even made money by doing it. It's like you're saying he would have stopped rapping if it wasn't making any money. but if that's the case why didn't he stop when he really wasn't making money? I don't get it. Why do so many people think all these big stars are just in it for the money? They obviously had a passion for what they do and were doing it before money was involved. Sir Stewart
There's a good chance that - gasp - every artist making music today is not doing it just for the money.
John Smith
Actually there is a good chance that it started as a hobby and formed into a career. Still I think its safe to say Wilco takes their music a little more serious then Eminem, who makes money exploiting mass media stereotpes and pop culture controversies. He's not interested in moving anything forward, but instead trying to capitalize on what will get him the most press. He's a sideshow act like most pop stars. correct..which is why it's called an opinion. Not every thought written on the internet is considered a fact. It does nto read like an opinion, it reads as a statement of fact.

HighFives
Remember that whole YHF thing where the label told them to change it so it would be more commercially available? Well that has happened with Eminem on pretty much every album he's put out. If he was doing it for the money you'd think he'd just agree with the label and say "yeah okay whatever you guys think will sell more!" but he doesn't he does the same thing Wilco did. Well, isn't that YOUR opinion? my goodness guys, is this your first day on a message board? Almost everything in this thread is an opinion or a personal observation. This is the second time someone has called me out for posting a persoanl opinion on this website. What's wrong with you kids? There is no reason I should have to type..IN MY OPINION everytime i post something. There are some real wackos on this board...that's a fact.

Doug C
Just popping in to say thank you to all of the posters in this thread. This board makes me laugh everyday, usually more than once. It is part of my healthy living regimen, just like running and not eating fast food.

I know where you're coming from, but you said "It's safe to say that Wilco takes their music more seriously than Eminem". I simply disagree with your assumption. It's not really something you can have an opinion on, unless you know the subjects personally.
rhino4evr
we've got some real cry babies on here don't we? seriously. There is no reason to attack someone's post with "THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW THAT" when it's blatantly obvious. This is literally the second time someone posted this in response to my comment in a few days. And it was even a different user. Do you guys all live in the same house? ha ha..whatever. Clint09eastwood
It does seem like some bands have been having better luck keeping things under wraps until a week or two before the album comes out. Not sure about this one. Once promos roll out there, it's out there. I doubt Jeff Tweedy cares like, say, Lars Ulrich, but I think it would be a bit annoying. Except, anymore, it almost serves as viral marketing if you've actually created something worth hearing. I know this is a stupid question, but what is the most likely scenario that occurred for Wilco (the album) to be leaked?
rhino4evr
It's obvious that there is no factual way you or anyone besides Eminem could know ANYTHING about Eminem's personal thoughts. It can only be observed by his actions which includes his music. Based on MY OPINION (happy?) of his music, he is not as serious about hip hop, as he is about making headlines. Unless you think that I thought I knew Eminem or Wilco personally? done here. I know this is a stupid question, but what is the most likely scenario that occurred for Wilco (the album) to be leaked? It was sent to the press for early reviews and was leaked. (Fact or Opinion?)

Eminem was noticably out of the media's eye for the last few years till this new album of his started up... which he did on purpose.

And your analysis is flawed.

This is literally the second time someone posted this in response to my comment in a few days. And it was even a different user. Do you guys all live in the same house? There is that opinion once again. Good opinions are based on fact or at least based on observation. I've never really observed the Eminem exists in the music business solley to make money, though he makes quiote a bit of it these days. Anyhow, it might be easier to just say you like Wilco and don't like Eminem. House? No, we actually live here... http://www.wpix.com/news/local/wpix-manhat...0,3838273.story

Guest Speed Racer
where did HMUF come from? I've heard it all the time here what's the story? I tried searching for it recently, to no avail. Some junior-high-aged Glenn Kotche fan was trying to cope with her new braces, and posted to ask if Glenn had ever worn braces. Shock of the century, she got some VC flak for the question and responded to it with, "OMG YOU ARE ALL IDIOTS! JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION YOU HIGHY MESSED UP FREAKS!!1!!!11" Very poignant, really.
