Cincinnati preshow meetup

Recommended Posts

How about meeting up at Nicholson's Tavern & Pub, literally right across the street from the Aronoff. We could all hang there until the last minute and walk across the street for the show. We did this the last time Wilco performed at the Aronoff and it worked out great.

Show starts at 8:00 and the opener is Heartless Bastards.

Meet-up time will probably depend on when people are rolling into town, but if we want a big table, we'll have to reserve one in advance. I'm thinking 6:00, 6:30. From what I have heard, Heartless Bastards sound pretty good and I hope to catch their set.

So who's in, and what time?

I know there's a bunch of VC'ers heading to this show, ElixirSue, theashtraysays, GregRVA, Leo, Erin, Morgan, J4Lackey maybe??? Who am I forgetting? Gosh, I can't wait for Friday to roll around and see ya'll again! :w00t

Thanks Wendy! We're in, 6:30 sounds good. Looking forward to meeting folks old and new.

AND IT'S THIS FRIDAY ! ! ! Seems like forever ago since the presale. The band is back in the States, the board is up and running again, school's out, and all was right with the world... see you all soon.

I can't wait to see all of you again (and some of you for the first time)! Two of my friends from Lexington are going to this show, and I don't know if I'm riding up with them or driving alone. If I get there in time I will definitely hang out at Nicholson's.

BTW, I've seen the Heartless Bastards and have zero interest in seeing them again. :pirate

The bar across the street sounds good and convenient. Can't wait to see all of you'll again and hopefully hear a few WTA tracks in the process. If anyone's a history buff I'm gonna try to go to the National Underground Railroad Museum earlier in the day. See everyone soon, Greg

OK, I checked in with Nicholson's and YES ... under-21 are allowed in the bar, you just cannot drink booze.

I reserved several tables at 6:00. So we'll be in little clusters of 4, but all in the same area, so it should be easy to move around between tables to talk to each other.

And FWIW, the menu online is not 100% accurate anymore, and the prices a little higher than what is posted online. :hmm

And SURPRISE! Heather & Russ are coming from MD! :dance

Update Thursday: Our group has grown and the booth thing isn't working out at this point. Nicholson's is reserving a big table for 18 at 6:00 in the back room (like we did last time). The reservation is under my name. And just so you know, the later you are, the lesser the chance they'll be holding as many seats open for us. The show is nearly sold out.

See you tomorrow! :dance

Oh! Don't forget to request your songs at Wilcoworld!

I'm going to be at the show, too, but my wife and I are celebrating our anniversary, so we're hitting up a little French bistro down the street before the show. :)

EDIT: BTW I have two extra tickets, Loge Front B142 and B143 if anyone still needs tickets.

Yay! So we're all going to the French Bistro!

Just kidding. We'll be there, Wendy. Been too busy to get on the board in a while (it's differnt!) Looking forward to seeing you all, even those crazy California college girls!

Your loss, Heartless Bastards are great.... :)

They weren't so bad. I caught the second half of their opening act... but wilco blew my brains out. I was standing about 10 feet from Nels and watching his eyes go white during the Impossible Germany solo. OMG that concert was great.

Totally agree about Wilco last night, just brilliant. As for Heartless Bastards, their set was super short, under 30 minutes I think.
