via belleville
Looks like the 10/9 and 10/8 dates in Dallas and Cedar Park are no longer listed on Wilcoworld.net. Wha happen?
Ricksmith
They're not listed at High Road Touring either... Say it ain't so!!
Key of C
NO! Dallas show, please come back. I beg you.
browngw
I just noticed that and came here to see what was going on. I was already thinking about heading to Memphis, if they don't play the Dallas show I will have to make the drive west to catch them. Are you with me Jason?
Jay Sutton
They are still listed on nonesuch: http://www.nonesuch.com/on-tour/wilco?page=1 Also, austin360 had an article about the Cedar Park show and said that C3 had booked it, which makes me think that they had a separate corroborating source than just Wilco's website: http://www.austin360.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/austin/music/entries/2009/07/27/wilco_to_play_cedar_park_cente.html
drop dead ed
well I hope they don't play at cedar park because I have no idea why Wilco would play there! Please don't play in a hockey rink!!! COME TO THE AUSTIN MUSIC HALL, PARAMOUNT, or the BASS CONCERT HALL. If I could have it my way i'd love to see them fit themselves and all their equipment in the Parish, hehe. Nice little venue there
Dave Yeats
Just heard a rumor that Wilco canceled the shows to fill in at Austin City Limits Fest in place of the Beastie Boys who had to cancel. Just a rumor at this point, though.

Just a rumor at this point, though. Well, seeing as how the Beastie Boys were playing on Oct. 2 and Wilco is playing in St. Paul that night I really doubt it. The only rumor I have seen re: ACL is the Yeah Yeah Yeahs one: http://www.examiner.com/x-13284-Austin-Concerts-Examiner~y2009m7d24-ACL-Beastie-Boys-Update-Friday-headliner-to-be-announced-soon-for-Austin-City-Limits-Music-Festival

Nice little venue there Do you have any idea how crappy it is to see bands perform at the Austin Music Hall (with horrible acoustics and terrible sightlines for 90% of all attendees)? I was hoping for the Long Center myself, with Bass Concert Hall a distant second, but the new arena in Cedar Park was said to have been designed with music performances in mind so I'm more than willing to give it a chance. Anything is better than Stubbs, where tedious drunken hipsters on their cell phones come in droves to do everything BUT watch bands perform.

I saw Kings of Leon there, and I thought It was prettty good. I really just want them to play in a GA venue. It doesn't matter to me about acoustics, because I always aim to be in the front. I've never been to the long center, but I looked it up recently and It looks amazing. I also read that the new arena in Cedar Park was designed for music, but honestly, Wilco shouldn't even play in Cedar Park. I like to believe Mr. Tweedy loves to play in Austin, and there's enough great venues to nab. They're working on it...i hope...

That's about a 7-8 hour trip. I would just like to know what the reason is for them disappearing, or some kind of explanation.

BewlayBrother
Where do the Dallas tickets "go on sale?" It looks like the Palladium has partnered with Ticketmaster, and Ticketmaster is selling tickets for the George Strait show at the Cedar Park Center. A search for Wilco on Ticketmaster's site shows a half dozen dates that include neither Dallas nor Cedar Park. Further confusing things is two results (St. Paul, Chicago night two) from the Ticketmaster search also show up on the Front Gate Tickets site. Adding to this mess is the show page on wilcoworld.net which advertises a June 28 presale for the dates surrounding the recently-removed Texas appearances. I wouldn't be so hung up on this confusion if it weren't for reserved seating. GA, I can buy my tickets a day or two after they go on sale. Reserved seating, though... A few points: 1) Show page is now up on the Palladium's website:http://www.thepalladiumballroom.com/eventdetails.php?eventid=24033 and AEG's website: http://www.aeglive.com/showdetail.php?id=24033&detail_type=event 2) Tickets will be on Ticketmaster. They do all Palladium shows. 3) This show will be entirely GA, so I wouldn't sweat it (Dallas, at least).
Ricksmith
They're baaaaack... on the Wilco shows page! A little advice: DO buy your tix through the presale. Last time they played the Palladium they allowed all those holding presale tickets to move to the front of the line. They may not do that this time, but if they do it's a really nice bonus for VCers! cosimic sammy
Not only are the Texas shows back on the Wilcoworld, the pre-sale started this morning (at least for Dallas) at 10:00 this morning. Fortunate that a friend posted on Facebook that she had purchased tickets, or I would have missed the presale for sure. A little notice from the boys would be nice. thejokeexplained
Thanks for the heads up. My only complaint is that the lowest shipping option is $8.50 for UPS but frontgate is still a hell of a lot better then ticketbastard for service charges. i wish they would at least give a free will call option. it's gonna be a nice week at the Palladium for me with The Arctic Monkeys playing there on the 5th. BTW there ticketmaster also has a presale for Wilco that starts tomorrow. anyone want to wager a ticket that their service charges are going to be more then frontgates fees and shipping combined? cosimic sammy
They twittered my phone about each pre sale and show... I can't believe e-mail is already outdated. Do I really need to join the world of twitter to stay up to date?
Wendy
I can't believe e-mail is already outdated. Do I really need to join the world of twitter to stay up to date? You might. That is, if you want every tidbit of info to come to you, as opposed to you checking back often at the website in times of confusion like this Texas thing. The email fan list has never been sent out for every little tidbit, mostly just periodic updates.
